Operations Associate

About the role

The Operations Associate will support and report directly to the Business Manager. The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting trade execution and price fix, handling logistics and inventory management, as well as maintaining accurate records of executed trades. The role is part of a fast-growing business, lean-structured and dynamic team. The overall objective of the Operations team is to execute seamless trades through optimum utilisation of business assets and strengthen the company's reputation as a reliable trading partner.

Key responsibilities

• Support execution of trades (including price fixing) with high level of precision and efficiency
• Record executed trades in an accurate and timely manner
• Perform reconciliation of trades, positions, and inventories
• Liaise with stakeholders (refiners, metals desks, vaulting and transportation service providers) to ensure smooth end-to-end trade process
• Process inbound-outbound shipments of precious metals and prepare the required documents
• Manage and maintain proper filing of trade, inventory, shipment and other related documents
• Perform ad-hoc duties when required

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting
• Minimum 2 years of experience in trade operations, logistics, and/or administration functions; at best, within precious metals / commodity trading
• Strong communication skills in English are essential (both written and spoken)
• Expert level with MS Excel
• Rigorous sense of organisation and keen eye for details
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and work well under stress
• High level of reliability, professionalism and respect for confidentiality
• Effective communication skills both with team members outside of the trading space and with senior management
• Knowledge of financial instruments in the commodities space is an advantage
