About Tradition Energy
Tradition Energy is an independent energy procurement, risk management, and sustainability solutions advisory firm. As part of the Tradition Group, we help organizations navigate complex energy markets, work with energy suppliers, and make informed decisions about their energy needs.
The Opportunity
Tradition Energy is seeking a proactive, outgoing, and detail-oriented Operations Associate to join our Client Services team in Stamford, Connecticut.
This entry-level position supports the day-to-day operations that follow the execution of energy supply contracts. You will work closely with our internal Energy Advisors and communicate directly with energy suppliers to coordinate enrollments, resolve issues, maintain accurate contract records, and ensure timely service delivery.
This is an opportunity to develop practical experience in energy procurement operations, supplier coordination, and contract administration while learning from experienced team members.
Recent college graduates and early-career professionals are encouraged to apply. Previous energy-industry experience is not required.
What You'll Do
· Issue Resolution: Take ownership of operational requests, independently troubleshoot issues, follow up on outstanding items, and escalate complex matters when necessary.
· Internal Coordination: Work closely with Energy Advisors to address post-contract service requests, communicate updates, and ensure issues are resolved.
· Supplier Enrollment: Monitor and coordinate customer enrollments, working with energy suppliers to help ensure accurate and timely transitions.
· Contract Administration: Upload, organize, and maintain client contracts and related documentation in Tradition Energy's proprietary software platform.
What We're Looking For
· Proactive Problem-Solving: Takes initiative, actively seeks answers, and works through challenges rather than waiting for direction.
· Ownership and Follow-Through: Demonstrates accountability for assigned responsibilities and persistence in resolving outstanding issues.
· Outgoing Personality & Strong Interpersonal Skills: Friendly, approachable, and comfortable initiating conversations with suppliers and colleagues. Able to build productive working relationships and navigate challenging conversations professionally.
· Attention to Detail: Committed to accuracy when managing contracts, customer information, and operational processes.
· Organization and Time Management: Able to balance multiple requests, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
· Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
· Interest in Energy Markets: Eagerness to learn about energy procurement, energy markets, and energy supplier processes.
· Education: Bachelor's degree required.
No previous full-time energy-industry experience is required.
Preferred Qualifications
· Up to three years of relevant experience in operations, administration, supplier coordination, customer support, or a related field.
· Internship experience in energy, finance, business operations, or professional services.
· Experience communicating with external vendors, suppliers, or business partners.
· Experience maintaining accurate records, organizing documentation, or working with software-based tracking systems.
· Familiarity with energy suppliers, utility services, or energy procurement processes.
· Experience managing competing interests and timelines.
These qualifications are preferred, not required.
Benefits

· Paid Time Off: PTO and 10 paid company holidays annually.
· Health Insurance: Medical, dental, and vision coverage.
· Retirement Savings: 401(k) plan with company matching contributions.
· Additional Coverage: Life and disability insurance, subject to applicable plan eligibility.
Benefits are subject to applicable eligibility requirements and plan terms.
