Operations Associate, Hedge Fund

About the role

Our client, a well established hedge fund, is seeking an experienced and detail oriented Operations Associate to join the team. This role is central to driving the firm’s operational framework, taking ownership of institutional counterparty setups, ongoing KYC/AML compliance maintenance, legal document tracking, and fund entity administration. The ideal candidate brings direct buy side or financial institution experience in prime brokerage onboarding and derivative documentation workflows, paired with strong organizational rigor and a proactive mindset.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate end to end trading account setups, fund entity onboarding, and SPV account opening across prime brokers, executing brokers, and counterparties.
• Fulfill incoming KYC, AML, and tax document refresh requests from prime brokerages, execution brokers, fund administrators, and local regulatory bodies.
• Manage virtual data rooms and organize corporate documentation for management entities and fund structures, partnering with external legal counsel as required.
• Facilitate the review, execution, and ongoing operational tracking of prime brokerage agreements, ISDA/CSA documentation, and associated operational schedules.
• Organize board meetings and committee sessions, overseeing agenda distribution, minuting, and recordkeeping.
• Partner with Finance, Legal, and Trading Operations teams to streamline institutional counterparty interactions and optimize operational workflows.
• Handle ad-hoc operational, middle office, and fund administration projects as assigned by senior management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Law, or a relevant discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years of direct operational experience in prime brokerage onboarding, trading account setup, or KYC/AML workflows within buy side asset managers, hedge funds, investment banks, or financial institutions.
• In depth understanding of prime broker onboarding requirements
• Ability to prioritize tasks effectively, take full ownership of operational workflows, and deliver accurately under tight market timelines.
• High attention to detail, exceptional organizational and analytical skills, strong interpersonal communication, and a continuous desire to learn and adapt.
• Excellent in spoken and written English
• Candidate need to be eligible to work in Hong Kong
