Operations team member – Logistics Company

We are looking for a confident, motivated operations team member to join a growing logistics company on a permanent basis. This is a customer-facing role suited to someone who enjoys building relationships and working in a busy team.
The company is part of an employee-owned trust and as such builds a great team spirit and receives a annual staff bonus which part of it is tax free.
Location is in the centre of Cheadle Hulme and is officed based 5 days a week.

About the role

The operations team plays a critical role in delivering excellent customer experience while ensuring the profitable and efficient movement of consignments across the UK. Team members are responsible for managing customer enquiries, securing bookings, coordinating deliveries, sourcing transport solutions and maintaining the highest standards of service, communication and professionalism always.

Key responsibilities

· Answer incoming customer calls promptly and professionally

· Respond to customer emails within agreed service standards

· Build and manage jobs accurately on the delivery system

· Following up leads, enquiries and quotations in a timely and professional manner

· Recording accurate customer details, call notes and sales activity on the relevant systems

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths

What we’re looking for

· Previous experience in telesales, canvassing, customer service or a busy office environment

· Experience or knowledge of logistics, transport, distribution or freight services would be advantageous

· Confident manner with strong communication and relationship-building skills

· Comfortable speaking with customers, identifying needs and presenting suitable service options

· Good attention to detail when recording information, following up actions and managing customer enquiries

· Basic Microsoft Office skills and willingness to learn internal systems

Hours, location and pay

This is an onsite role based in Cheadle Hulme, working 5 days per week, 8 hours per day. Salary to be confirmed
