Operations Director - Application Development

For our client, we are seeking a Operations Director - Application Development to join the team of a leader in the Aerospace & Defense space.

This leader will oversee global application development operations that support a complex, compliance-driven environment. The role is responsible for guiding technical teams, stabilizing enterprise applications, and ensuring application services align with business needs across functions and locations. You will also partner closely with stakeholders to improve delivery, governance, and continuous improvement across the application landscape.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $186,200 – $353,800 annually

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for global application development teams
• Manage budgeting, staffing, supplier relationships, and service performance
• Drive professional development and continuous improvement initiatives
• Support user groups across various functions and locations
• Engage in industry collaboration for best practices and technology awareness
• Lead application design, development, and deployment oversight
• Ensure operational stability and compliance of enterprise applications

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field with 14 years of direct experience
• 12+ years in IT operations or application development management
• Strong leadership experience managing technical teams and complex application landscapes
• Expertise in SAP ECC and HANA, with a focus on compliance-driven environments
• Experience in governance and cross-functional stakeholder collaboration
