Drain Designs is seeking an experienced Operations Director to oversee and lead our day-to-day operations across the Youngstown and Pittsburgh markets.

This is not a desk job. We are looking for a hands-on leader who thrives in the field, takes ownership, solves problems, develops people, and ensures projects are completed safely, efficiently, and profitably.

As Operations Director, you will work directly with ownership and serve as the primary leader responsible for field operations, scheduling, team accountability, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

• Direct and oversee daily field operations
• Coordinate schedules, manpower, equipment, and resources
• Ensure crews are where they need to be and projects stay on schedule
• Improve operational efficiency and productivity
• Maintain company standards for safety, quality, and customer service

Team Leadership

• Lead, coach, mentor, and develop field personnel
• Hold team members accountable to performance expectations
• Conduct jobsite visits and field inspections
• Support hiring, onboarding, and employee development
• Build a positive, high-performance culture

Customer Experience

• Communicate professionally with homeowners and customers
• Resolve project concerns and field challenges quickly
• Ensure projects are completed to company standards
• Protect and strengthen the company’s reputation

Business Performance

• Monitor project progress and profitability
• Identify operational improvements and growth opportunities
• Assist ownership with strategic planning and execution
• Drive accountability and measurable results throughout the organization

Qualifications

Required

• Proven leadership experience in construction, waterproofing, excavation, landscaping, masonry, drainage, or related trades
• Strong organizational and scheduling abilities
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to lead teams while maintaining accountability
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Ability to work in both office and field environments

Preferred

• Experience managing multiple crews and projects
• Knowledge of drainage, waterproofing, excavation, or foundation repair
• Experience with budgeting, estimating, and project management
• Strong understanding of safety practices and jobsite management
