About the Role

We are seeking an experienced, results-driven and strategic

Operations Director

to lead and oversee our marine operations, shipyard projects, manpower deployment, and business development activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient project execution, operational excellence, cost control, safety compliance, and sustainable business growth.

The ideal candidate should possess strong leadership skills, extensive marine industry experience, and the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining excellent relationships with clients, subcontractors, and business partners.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily operations, project planning, execution, and delivery of marine and offshore projects.

Manage shipyard activities, including ship repair, maintenance, insulation, electrical works, and manpower deployment.

Develop and implement operational strategies to improve productivity, efficiency, and profitability.

Lead and supervise project managers, site supervisors, administrative personnel, and operational teams.

Manage manpower planning, recruitment coordination, subcontractors, and workforce allocation.

Monitor project budgets, operational costs, quotations, tender submissions, and financial performance.

Develop new business opportunities and maintain strong relationships with shipyards, main contractors, clients, and suppliers.

Ensure compliance with Singapore's workplace safety requirements, employment regulations, and applicable marine industry standards.

Identify operational risks and implement corrective and preventive measures.

Prepare and present management reports covering project progress, financial performance, manpower utilisation, and business development.

Requirements

Degree or diploma in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Management, or a related discipline; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.

Minimum 5-8 years of relevant experience in marine, offshore, shipyard, or industrial operations, preferably with senior management experience.

Proven ability to lead teams, manage multiple projects, and deliver results within budget and schedule.

Strong understanding of shipyard operations, marine subcontracting, manpower management, and project costing.

Experience in tendering, contract negotiation, business development, and client relationship management.

Good knowledge of workplace safety, operational compliance, and Singapore employment requirements.

Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

Commercially minded, proactive, and capable of making strategic operational decisions.
