Operations Engineer

About the job position:

As an Operations Engineer , you will play a critical role in manufacturing execution, process stability, test deployment, supplier technical support, and NPI bring-up. You will work closely with Operations, NPI, Photonics, Electronics, and Test teams to ensure our products scale reliably from engineering builds to high-volume manufacturing.

Responsibilities:

Manufacturing Process Execution

• Execute and optimize key processes such as TCB, Flip-Chip, Fiber Attach, Active Alignment, and module-level assembly.
• Perform daily process monitoring, SPC tracking, and parameter control to ensure stable production.
• Support engineering builds, pilot runs, and on-site debug at OSAT/CM partners.

Yield and Data Analysis

• Analyze high-volume yield data, SPC trends, failure signatures, and correlation across process/test.
• Drive root-cause analysis (RCA), 8D, PFMEA, and corrective actions to improve yield and reduce variation.
• Support reliability and environmental testing (thermal cycling, burn-in, optical performance consistency).

Manufacturing Test Support

• Collaborate with Photonics/Electronics/Test teams to deploy module-level and system-level test flows.
• Assist in developing fixtures, jigs, diagnostic scripts, and test coverage requirements.
• Maintain SOPs, test limits, and ensure proper implementation at OSAT/CM sites.

Supplier Technical Interface

• Work with foundries, OSATs, and contract manufacturers to resolve process, test, and quality issues.
• Support ECN/PCN implementation, process changes, and technical documentation alignment.
• Participate in on-site builds and provide immediate engineering support when needed.

NPI & Production Transition

• Support new product introduction from EVT/DVT/PVT to mass production.
• Help define manufacturing conditions, process windows, test coverage, and quality metrics.
• Analyze engineering lot results and propose improvements for manufacturability and yield.

Production Systems (MES)

• Assist in MES deployment, including WIP tracking, traceability, and process compliance.
• Ensure correct data mapping for manufacturing logs and test results.

Qualifications:

Required

• 3+ years of experience in semiconductor, photonics, packaging, or module manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience with at least one process: TCB, Flip-Chip, Fiber Attach, Active Alignment, or optical module assembly.
• Strong understanding of SPC, yield analysis, FMEA, RCA, and 8D methodologies.
• Ability to analyze manufacturing/test data using Python, Excel, JMP, or similar tools.
• Experience working with OSAT/Foundry partners on technical issues.
• Good English communication skills for cross-site collaboration.

Preferred

• Experience with Silicon Photonics, optical modules, fiber alignment, CPO, or OCS systems.
• Familiarity with module/system-level test development.
• Experience with NPI, pilot runs, or engineering builds.
• Knowledge of MES/ERP systems and manufacturing data flows.
• On-site support experience at OSAT/CM locations.
