Job Description:

  • Manage infrastructure monitoring and alerting to ensure effective coverage, timely response and resolution of identified issues.
  • Manage backup operations and recoverability, including backup verification, scheduled restore testing and recovery checks.
  • Administer virtualisation platforms, including host lifecycle, capacity management, VM provisioning, inventory management and platform migrations.
  • Provide operational support for Active Directory and related identity services, including directory changes, migrations and regional cutovers led by the Engineering team.
  • Investigate and resolve incidents and recurring system issues, working with internal teams and vendors where required.
  • Develop and maintain scripts using PowerShell, Bash or Python to automate recurring operational tasks such as patching, provisioning, reporting and system checks.
  • Maintain accurate runbooks, system documentation, operational procedures and troubleshooting guides.
  • Identify and implement agreed improvements to systems, tooling and operational processes.
  • Participate in scheduled out-of-hours maintenance and the team's on-call rotation.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology or a relevant field.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience operating production server infrastructure in a similar role.
  • Hands-on experience administering enterprise virtualisation platforms such as Proxmox VE, VMware vSphere and vCenter, or equivalent.
  • Practical experience with patch management and infrastructure monitoring across a server estate.
  • Experience administering Windows Server and supporting enterprise Active Directory environments.
  • Linux administration experience, including packages, services, storage and troubleshooting, is highly advantageous.
  • Scripting capability in PowerShell, Bash or Python for operational automation.
  • Experience with enterprise backup platforms such as Veeam is advantageous.
  • Microsoft, virtualisation or Linux certifications are advantageous.
  • Comfortable supporting infrastructure across multiple countries and time zones, including scheduled out-of-hours work and on-call support.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with ownership of issues through to resolution.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with regional IT teams, users and vendors.
  • Initiative, enthusiasm and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • Passion for technology and continuous improvement.
