We are seeking a commercially strong Sector Operations Executive with substantial warehousing experience and deep technical knowledge to lead FunxionO’s warehousing sector. You will own its growth, profitability, customer relationships, operational delivery and people leadership.

You must have a proven ability to personally build pipeline, sell solutions, negotiate commercial terms and close profitable contracts—and ensure the business delivers what you have sold.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and execute the warehousing sector growth strategy, targeting new customers and expanding existing accounts.
• Personally lead prospecting, opportunity qualification, proposals, presentations, negotiations and closing.
• Lead warehouse site assessments and design operating solutions, workforce models and pricing that deliver customer value while protecting margin, cash and contractual commitments.
• Own sector P&L performance, budgets, forecasts and customer profitability.
• Lead warehouse mobilisation and operations across assigned sites, improving throughput, inventory accuracy, order fulfilment, service levels and cost per output.
• Build senior customer relationships and drive retention, renewals and profitable account growth.
• Lead, coach and develop operations managers and site leaders, addressing underperformance and building succession capability.
• Maintain effective workforce, safety, financial and operational controls.
• Drive WMS adoption, process improvement and appropriate automation with technical teams, measuring operational benefits.
• Maintain an accurate CRM pipeline and reliable commercial forecasts.

What You’ll Bring

• Substantial progressive leadership experience, typically 8–12 years in warehousing, distribution centres or logistics operations, including senior responsibility for warehouse performance.
• A demonstrable personal track record of originating, negotiating and closing material business-to-business contracts, with the ability to sell outsourced warehousing solutions.
• Direct P&L responsibility, with evidence of profitable growth, margin improvement and cash management.
• Deep technical knowledge of end-to-end warehouse processes: receiving, put-away, replenishment, picking, packing, dispatch, returns and inventory reconciliation.
• Technical competence in warehouse layout and flow, slotting, capacity planning, materials handling equipment, labour standards and volume-based workforce planning.
• Ability to diagnose and improve pick accuracy, dock-to-stock time, order cycle time, throughput and labour productivity, with proven mobilisation or turnaround results.
• Proven experience leading warehouse managers, supervisors and sizeable operational workforces across multiple sites.
• Strong warehouse solution design, financial modelling, negotiation and executive presentation skills.
• Practical knowledge of warehouse management systems, scanning and transaction controls, cycle counts, stock investigations and ERP interfaces.
• A relevant qualification in supply chain, logistics, operations, engineering or business, or equivalent demonstrable experience. A postgraduate qualification is advantageous.
• Willingness to travel to customer operations and sites.
