Reports to: [Finance Manager / Director of FP&A]

Employment Type: Full-time, Salaried (Exempt)

Compensation: $75,000 – $100,000 base salary, plus annual discretionary bonus eligibility

About the Role

We are the U.S. operating branch of a publicly listed international company — big-company backing with a start-up work ethic. We have the stability, resources, and governance of a public parent, but on the ground we run like a start-up: a lean, high-accountability team where people move fast, roll up their sleeves, solve problems without waiting for a playbook, and have real ownership and visibility to leadership from day one. We are early adopters of AI in our day-to-day work — tools such as Claude and Palantir are embedded in how we analyze, report, and make decisions — and we look for people who are curious, adaptable, and eager to work this way.

We are seeking an Operations Financial Analyst to join our Finance team. This is an early-career role for someone who wants the best of both worlds: the rigor and structure of public-company finance, and the pace, breadth, and hands-on ownership of a start-up. You will build a strong foundation in financial planning, operational analytics, and business partnering while contributing to reporting that feeds a public-company parent. You will work closely with Finance and Operations leadership to turn data into insight, support planning cycles, and help the business make faster, better-informed decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

  • Support the annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and long-range planning processes

  • Prepare monthly variance analysis (actuals vs. budget/forecast) with clear commentary on drivers

  • Build and maintain financial models to evaluate revenue, cost, and margin trends

  • Assist with month-end close activities and management reporting packages

Operational Metrics Tracking

  • Own and maintain KPI dashboards covering operational performance (throughput, cost per unit, utilization, cycle times, etc.)

  • Partner with Operations to define, track, and improve metrics that link operational activity to financial outcomes

  • Identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for efficiency and cost savings

  • Ensure data accuracy and consistency across reporting sources

Ad-Hoc Analysis & Projects

  • Respond to ad-hoc requests from Finance, Operations, and senior leadership with timely, well-structured analysis

  • Support pricing, capital investment, and process-improvement business cases

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of reporting tools, templates, and workflows, including leveraging AI tools to automate recurring analysis

Schedule & Work Expectations

  • Hybrid: 2 days per week in our New York office, remaining days remote

  • Travel: up to 20% as business needs require

  • This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and applicable New York State law. It is not eligible for overtime pay.

  • The role requires flexibility to work beyond standard business hours when needed to meet deadlines — most commonly during month-end and quarter-end close, budget and forecast cycles, and year-end. Workload varies with the business calendar, and hours are expected to average out over the course of the year.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field

  • 0–2 years of professional experience in finance, accounting, or an analytical role (internships considered)

  • Strong Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables, financial modeling); comfort working with large datasets

  • Solid understanding of financial statements and core accounting principles

  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to communicate findings clearly to non-finance audiences

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, lean-team environment

  • Start-up mindset: comfort with ambiguity, a bias for action, willingness to wear multiple hats, and a drive to learn new tools quickly

Preferred

  • Experience with an ERP system (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and BI/visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau)

  • Exposure to operational or manufacturing/logistics environments

  • Prior experience at an e-waste or electronics recycling company

  • Knowledge of metal recycling and smelter/refiner contract structures (e.g., assay-based settlements, treatment and refining charges, metal payables)

  • Spanish language proficiency

  • Familiarity with AI and data platforms such as Claude (including Claude Cowork) and Palantir, and a genuine interest in using them to accelerate analysis, reporting, and workflow automation

What We Offer

  • Base salary of $75,000 – $100,000, plus eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus

  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision coverage — 100% of premiums paid by the employer

  • 401(k) with company match

  • Paid time off and company holidays

  • Hybrid schedule with 2 days per week in our New York office; travel may be required up to 20% of the time

  • Direct exposure to senior leadership and meaningful ownership early in your career

  • Hands-on experience with a modern AI-enabled finance stack (Claude, Palantir) in a public-company environment

  • The stability and benefits of a public company combined with the growth, autonomy, and impact of a start-up team
