Operations Head / COO - Retail Operations.

Build the Operating System of One of India's Fast-Growing Retail Networks.

We're looking for a high-impact operations leader who doesn't just manage stores but builds systems that help hundreds of stores perform consistently. This is a leadership role for someone who enjoys creating structure, driving accountability, improving profitability, and building scalable operating excellence across a large retail network. Operational Excellence

• Build and institutionalize Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across all key business functions.
• Standardize business processes to improve execution, consistency, and operational efficiency.
• Drive organization-wide compliance and operational discipline.

Business Governance & Performance Reviews

• Establish a structured weekly and monthly business review cadence across all functions.
• Create meaningful performance dashboards and management reporting systems.
• Track business KPIs and ensure timely corrective actions.

Store Performance & Profitability

• Drive store performance with a sharp focus on profitability, productivity, capital efficiency, and operational excellence.
• Improve execution standards across the retail network through structured reviews and performance interventions.
• Strengthen accountability across Regional, Zonal, Area, and Store Management teams.

New Store Governance

• Own the operational governance framework for new store expansion.
• Lead site evaluation, operational readiness, pre-launch compliance, and post-launch performance reviews.
• Ensure every new store launches successfully with the right operational foundation.

Cross-Functional Leadership

• Partner closely with Finance to monitor operational metrics while Finance retains ownership of financial controls and statutory compliance.
• Collaborate with HR, Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing, and other functions to improve business execution.
• Design and implement a clear decision-making and approval framework that eliminates delays and improves organizational agility.

Compliance & Retail Standards

• Ensure consistent adherence to store hygiene, staffing norms, SOP compliance, operational audits, and retail excellence standards across the network.
• Build a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.

What Success Looks Like in the First 90 Days

SOPs documented, approved, and implemented across at least three priority departments.

A structured weekly and monthly review mechanism operating independently across the business.

A consolidated business performance dashboard presented regularly to leadership.

A clear decision-rights and approval framework designed and submitted for executive sign-off.

Improved operational discipline and accountability across field and store management.

Who We're Looking For

We're seeking a leader who combines operational depth with strategic thinking. Preferred Experience

• 8 to 15 years of experience in Retail Operations, with at least 5 years leading multi-store operations (100+ stores or equivalent scale).
• Prior experience in Mobile Retail or Consumer Electronics Retail will be a strong advantage.
• Proven ownership of store profitability not just revenue growth.
• Hands-on experience building SOPs, governance models, operational review systems, and field accountability frameworks from the ground up.
• Strong experience managing Regional, Zonal, Area, and Store Management teams.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret store performance, inventory, productivity, and operational data to drive business decisions.
• A leader who is execution-focused, process-oriented, and capable of influencing cross-functional teams.

Direct reporting line to the CEO, Opportunity to design and own the operating backbone of a 150+ store retail chain during a high-growth phase.
