What they need
About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to step into a key leadership role, leading the Operations team and helping shape how the organisation works. You'll play an important role in bringing structure to people, priorities and processes, ensuring the day-to-day operation runs smoothly while identifying opportunities to improve how we work. You'll have the opportunity to strengthen systems and processes, drive practical improvements, and create greater clarity and accountability across the team. A big part of the role will also be building strong relationships, supporting people and confidently navigating the conversations that sometimes need to be had.
This role will report to the General Manager, ARC Medical Services, and will support the delivery of high-quality, consistent medical services across the country. You will work closely with clinicians, customers and the team to ensure the right things happen at the right time, issues are resolved, and operational rhythms are clear and disciplined.
As the business continues to grow, this role will help embed practical systems, improve visibility across service delivery, support workforce coordination, and strengthen the way new facilities and provider relationships are onboarded into the national operating model. You will help build simple, repeatable ways of working, using Lean / Kaizen principles to reduce waste, improve flow, solve root causes and make performance visible everyday.
Key responsibilities
- Support the smooth day-to-day operation of ARC Medical Services including clinician engagement, rostering, coverage and workforce coordination in partnership with the wider team
- Coordinate priorities, follow-up actions and operating rhythms so clinicians, support teams and customers have clarity on what needs to happen
- Improve systems, processes and reporting to improve visibility, accountability and service consistency
- Use standard work, visual management, daily management and clear metrics to improve flow, reduce rework and make problems visible early
- Work with the GM, ARC Medical Services to identify bottlenecks, solve practical operational problems and drive continuous improvement using Lean principles
- Help onboard new clinicians, facilities and service changes into a consistent national operating model
- Build trusted relationships with aged care providers, clinicians, administrators and internal stakeholders
- Ensure operational activity supports high-quality care, compliance, and responsiveness
About you
- Leadership experience in primary care, aged care, community health, or a related sector, with an understanding of the New Zealand health system
- Experience working within multi-site or national service delivery models
- Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to bring structure to people, priorities and competing demands
- Confidence working with clinicians, administrators and customers in an essential service delivery environment
- A proven track record of driving operational excellence, productivity and continuous improvement
- Strong people leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the emotional intelligence to build relationships, engage clinicians and have courageous conversations when required
- A pragmatic, commercially minded approach, balanced with a genuine commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and outcomes
- A practical, low-ego approach with the ability to get things done through influence, persistence and good judgement
