GEM OPTICIANS is a third-generation luxury eyewear and eyecare house, established in New Delhi in 1969 and known for its curated collections and personalised client care.

Role Overview
The Operations Lead will take full ownership of operations across GEM OPTICIANS’ stores, reporting directly to the Director. Working closely with management, the incumbent will implement SOPs, monitor processes, and ensure a consistent, high standard of service in every store. A key part of the role is contributing to the strategy and execution of GEM OPTICIANS’ retail expansion.

Key Responsibilities

Store Operations

• Own and oversee day-to-day operations across all stores
• Ensure every store runs smoothly, consistently and to the brand’s luxury standard
• Visit stores regularly to review performance, presentation and service quality
• Identify operational gaps and put solutions in place promptly

Retail Expansion Strategy

• Work closely with the Director on the strategy and planning of retail expansion
• Evaluate prospective locations, markets and competitors
• Lead the operational setup of new stores, including fit-out coordination, staffing, SOP rollout and launch readiness
• Ensure new stores reach operational standards quickly and consistently

SOPs and Process Monitoring

• Work closely with management on the design, rollout and implementation of SOPs
• Monitor processes across stores to ensure SOPs are followed consistently
• Conduct periodic audits and report on compliance, gaps and corrective actions
• Refine processes over time based on on-ground feedback

Team Management

• Lead, guide and hold store teams accountable to operational standards
• Coordinate staffing, rosters and attendance across stores
• Identify training needs and support the onboarding of new staff

Inventory and Coordination

• Oversee stock movement, inventory controls and store-level requirements
• Coordinate with vendors, maintenance and service providers to keep stores fully functional

Reporting

• Report directly to the Director on store performance, process compliance, expansion progress and operational issues
• Prepare regular operational reports and track key metrics across locations

Requirements

• 8+ years of professional experience, including at least 3 years in a managerial role
• Mandatory experience in retail operations; multi-store or luxury retail exposure is a strong advantage
• Experience in retail expansion or new store launches is highly preferred
• Proven experience implementing SOPs and monitoring processes
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to hold teams accountable
• Excellent organisational, problem-solving and follow-up skills
• Good written and spoken English
• Proficiency in MS Office and/or Google Workspace
• Travel between store locations across Delhi-NCR is mandatory

Position Details

• Reporting To: Director
• Location: Rotational across Delhi-NCR
• Working Hours: 10 hours per day, as per operational requirements
• Working Days: 6 days a week; weekends are working days
• Weekly Off: As per operational requirements
• Compensation: Negotiable, commensurate with experience
