What they need
Site Manager | Onshore Wind | Central France
The Opportunity
An international renewable energy business is entering a major period of growth across France, having increased its operational portfolio from approximately 100MW to 500MW in the space of just 12 months.
As part of this expansion, they are now looking for an experienced Site Manager to take responsibility for a portfolio of approximately 70MW across seven onshore wind sites , with Poitiers the preferred location due to its central position between the assets.
This is an opportunity to join a growing asset management team at an important stage of its development, with significant investment and a major repowering programme already underway across the French portfolio.
The Role:
As Site Manager, you will have responsibility for the safe, compliant and efficient operation of a portfolio of onshore wind assets.
You will act as a key point of contact between the sites, internal asset management teams and external O&M providers, ensuring that operational performance, safety and contractual requirements are being effectively managed.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage the day to day operational performance of approximately 70MW across seven onshore wind sites
Coordinate internal and external O&M teams to ensure assets are operating safely and efficiently
Monitor site performance, KPIs and operational issues, escalating where required
Work closely with the wider asset management team to identify and resolve technical and operational issues
Ensure all activities comply with French legislation, HSE requirements and relevant regulatory standards
Build strong working relationships with O&M providers and other external stakeholders
Review operational reports and ensure required actions are followed through
Support inspections, maintenance activities and wider operational programmes across the portfolio
Provide regular updates on site performance, risks and ongoing activities
Work closely with the wider team during upcoming repair and repowering activities
Ensure Site Management processes and procedures are consistently followed across the portfolio
Requirements:
- 4 to 5 years of experience within the onshore wind industry
Strong understanding of wind farm operations and maintenance
Previous experience coordinating O&M activities, ideally working with both internal and external providers
A good understanding of French legislation and regulatory requirements
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Good digital and web platform understanding
Fluent French and B2 level English or above
The ability to work independently while collaborating closely with a wider international team
A willingness to travel between sites when required
Candidates currently working as Site Supervisors who have the technical experience and are ready to progress into a Site Manager position will also be considered.
Location:
Poitiers / Central France
The preference is for someone based around Poitiers or centrally positioned between the portfolio, although there is flexibility for candidates located closer to one of the sites who can comfortably cover the wider portfolio.
Why Join?
This is a particularly interesting time to join the business. The French portfolio has grown fivefold in just 12 months , while a major repowering programme is now underway, with multiple wind farms moving towards repair and repowering activities from 2027 onwards.
You will therefore be joining during a genuine period of investment and transformation, with the opportunity to play a key role in both the day to day management of the existing portfolio and the future development of the assets.
The wider business is international, offering opportunities to work cross functionally with teams across different markets, alongside strong internal progression and talent development programmes.
Employees also benefit from opportunities for international travel, language courses and a range of additional support designed to encourage long term development and retention.
If you're looking to take the next step in your wind career and want to join a business where you can have genuine responsibility across a growing portfolio, this is an opportunity worth exploring.
