Operations Manager (5days/Manufacturing)

Position: Operations Manager

Location: Gelang Patah, Johor

Industry: Food Manufacturing

Working Days & Hours: Monday – Friday | 8.30am – 5.30pm

Salary: RM10,000 – RM14,000 (depends on experience & last drawn)

Job Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage overall manufacturing operations, including production, productivity, quality, fulfillment and operational efficiency.
• Drive daily production performance and ensure production targets are achieved according to planned schedules.
• Optimize manpower, production capacity, resources and workflow to improve productivity and operational efficiency.
• Monitor production planning and execution to ensure customer orders are completed accurately and delivered on time.
• Drive and monitor OTIF (On-Time-In-Full) performance and effectively manage urgent orders and production changes.
• Work closely with QA/QC to maintain product quality, reduce defects, rework, wastage and production losses.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, HACCP, Halal requirements, SOPs and applicable food manufacturing standards.
• Review and improve operational processes, workflows, material flow, inventory accuracy and overall manufacturing efficiency.
• Coordinate closely with Production, Warehouse, QA/QC, Maintenance and Logistics teams to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Lead Lean Manufacturing, 5S, waste reduction and continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations.
• Establish, monitor and analyze operational KPIs, including production achievement, productivity, OTIF, yield, wastage, downtime and operational efficiency.
• Identify operational issues and implement effective corrective and preventive actions to improve overall performance.
• Ensure proper documentation, operational records, SOP compliance and workplace discipline across all operational teams.
• Support the implementation of digitalization, automation and data-driven systems to improve operational control and efficiency.
• Provide leadership, direction and guidance to operational teams while driving accountability and a strong performance culture.
• Work closely with the Managing Director and management team to support business growth and achieve operational objectives.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Manufacturing, Operations Management, Food Technology, Engineering, Business Management, or a related field.

• More than 5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing operations, preferably in the food manufacturing, bakery, pastry, FMCG or related industry.

• Proven experience managing production teams and overall manufacturing operations.

• Strong knowledge of production planning, productivity improvement, quality management and operational efficiency.

• Good understanding of GMP, HACCP, Halal requirements and food manufacturing standards.

• Strong leadership, analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

• Results-oriented with strong execution, accountability and the ability to work under pressure.

• Good communication and coordination skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple departments.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office; experience with production, AutoCount or Codemax systems will be an advantage.
