What they need
You would love this role if...
- You keep operations running calmly, even when several things need sorting at once.
- You live and breathe procurement, stock, logistics and customer service
- You'd rather lead from the front and lift your people than sit back and manage from a distance.
- You can focus amidst the chaos, not just in the calm and quiet.
- You push through on the toughest days, rather than easing off.
- You want the team win ahead of the personal win.
- You step in to help your colleagues when the going gets tough.
- You take ownership: solve what you can, escalate only when you must.
- You get a real kick from delivering customers more than they asked for.
A day in the life of an Operations Manager at VidaSpace...
No two days look the same, but most start before the noise does. You're clearing emails early, scanning for anything that's slipped overnight, a supplier delay, a QC flag, a freight update that changes the plan for the day.
From there it's into the flow. You're checking stock positions and reviewing what's landing, working the numbers with the Create and Convert Team Leaders to forecast demand and keep procurement ahead of it. There's a bespoke order that needs its own process, a shipment to track across borders, and a supplier QC issue to sort before it reaches a customer. You're the first port of call for any operational issues, fixing what you can and only escalating when it genuinely needs it.
Alongside the operational work, you're leading people. That means time on the floor with the Warehouse and Customer Care Teams, training, coaching, and keeping SOPs clear so the work stays consistent when you're not standing over it. If the warehouse is short of staff, you step in and cover.
Not every day goes to plan. A shipment gets held up, a QC issue surfaces late, two problems land at once while the phone's ringing. You stay calm, work the problem, and keep the team steady rather than letting it throw the day. That's part of the job.
By the time things wind down, you've closed off what you can, set up tomorrow, and made sure operations are ready to deliver again, supplier through to customer, without a hitch.
Purpose:
This role keeps VidaSpace running reliably, from supplier through to customer. You'll manage procurement and stock, balancing stock turn against KPIs and forecasting demand with the Create & Convert Team Leaders. You'll coordinate freight and logistics, sort out supplier QC issues, and own orders and projects from the moment they're placed to the moment they land on site. When operational issues come up, you're the first port of call.
You'll also lead and grow the Warehouse and Customer Care Teams. That means training your people, building their skills, and keeping processes clear and consistent through solid SOPs.
Ultimately, you keep operations efficient and dependable end to end, so the business can deliver on its promises and scale with confidence.
Purchasing & Logistics:
- Purchasing: Optimizing stock holdings to balance stock turn with KPI and planning for procurement by forecasting customer demands. Forecasting customer demands with the CREATE & CONVERT Team Leaders. This includes following a special process for bespoke orders.
- Coordinate Freight and Logistics: Organize, track and communicate updates on international and local purchases
- QC: Supplier issue resolution regarding pre delivery QC issues
- Warehouse Back-Up: Cover for the warehouse team members if required
- Minor Issue Resolution: First port of call for minor issues, only escalating to operations and product manager if necessary
- People Management: Lead, motivate, and develop the customer care team, the Purchasing & Logistics Staff Member, and Warehouse Team Lead
Warehouse & Customer Care Team Lead:
- Training & Development: Support team capability by delivering training, identifying development needs, implementing new processes, and maintaining clear and consistent SOP documentation.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive operational efficiency by optimising labour, setting and achieving team KPIs, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and identifying opportunities to enhance processes and performance.
Role Persona:
- Organized & Precise: Structured with close attention to details, ensures accuracy
- Reliable Under Pressure: Maintains focus, delivers results and stays calm even when workloads or deadlines are challenging
- Customer Focused: Understands client needs and ensures their experience is smooth, helpful & professional.
- Focused on Efficiency: Finds ways to work smarter, streamline processes, and save time without sacrificing quality.
- Team Orientated: Collaborates openly, supports colleagues and contributes positively to team goals & culture
What's in it for you:
- Company provided vehicle (inc. for personal use), computer & phone
- Part of a tight-knit, collaborative team
- Regular company team events & team building activities
- Company Profit Share Program
- Birthday paid day off
- Long-term career opportunity within a stable, family-owned business
Other offers great for you!
