Operations Manager

We’re looking for an exceptional Operations Manager to lead essential community and social services across Auckland. You’ll lead teams supporting people experiencing homelessness, poverty, addiction, mental health challenges, and family hardship, while helping deliver practical support including housing, food assistance, rehabilitation, counselling, and community services.

Key Responsibilties

• Provide strategic and day-to-day operational leadership.
• Lead, coach, mentor, and develop high-performing teams.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders, funders, and community partners.
• Monitor performance and drive continuous improvement.
• Maintain high standards across quality, compliance, risk, and health & safety.
• Support workforce planning, recruitment, and staff development.
• Assist with budgeting, resource management, and operational planning.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen and improve service delivery.

About you

• Proven experience in operations, service management, or senior leadership.
• Strong people leadership and team management experience.
• Experience within social services, mental health, AOD, healthcare, community services, or a similar environment.
• Experience working with vulnerable people and communities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong commercial, operational, and strategic thinking.
• Confidence managing complex situations and competing priorities.
• Knowledge of quality, compliance, risk, and health & safety.
• Valid NZ working rights
