Operations Manager – Oilfield Services

Redtail Energy Services LLC is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee daily field operations, personnel, equipment, and job execution. This position requires strong knowledge of oilfield operations, particularly workover, completion, and production services, along with the ability to manage multiple crews and jobs in a fast-paced environment.

The Operations Manager will be responsible for ensuring jobs are properly staffed, equipment is ready and available, operations are performed safely and efficiently, and communication is maintained between field supervisors, management, and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily workover, completion, and production operations.
  • Coordinate and manage rig crews, tool pushers, operators, and other field personnel.
  • Schedule crews and equipment according to operational needs and customer requirements.
  • Monitor multiple active jobs and ensure operations remain on schedule.
  • Ensure rigs and supporting equipment, including laydown machines, swivels, frac pumps, and related equipment, are operational and properly maintained.
  • Coordinate equipment repairs, maintenance, inspections, and mobilization.
  • Work closely with supervisors and field personnel to resolve operational and equipment issues.
  • Maintain communication with customers regarding job status, operational needs, and changes in the field.
  • Ensure company safety procedures, customer requirements, and applicable regulations are followed.
  • Participate in incident investigations and corrective actions when necessary.
  • Monitor employee performance, attendance, and crew productivity.
  • Assist with hiring, training, and development of field personnel.
  • Review operational reports, job documentation, equipment needs, and field activity.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and maintain operational standards.
  • Respond to operational issues outside normal business hours when required.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in oilfield operations is required.
  • Strong knowledge of workover rigs, completion operations, and production-related services.
  • Previous supervisory or operations management experience strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of oilfield equipment and basic equipment troubleshooting.
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple crews, jobs, and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with field personnel, customers, and company management.
  • Understanding of oilfield safety practices and operational requirements.
  • Basic computer and reporting skills.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record required.
  • Must be willing to travel to field locations as operational needs require.
  • Must be available to respond to operational needs associated with 24-hour oilfield operations.

We are looking for someone who understands that successful operations require more than keeping a schedule. The right candidate must be able to lead crews, understand the equipment, make decisions under pressure, solve problems in the field, and hold operations to a high standard of safety and performance.
