What they need

Shamrock Group is seeking a hands-on Operations Manager to oversee our soda, juice, and ice manufacturing operations.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being directly involved in day-to-day operations. We are not looking for someone who manages from an office. Our Operations Manager will be visible on the floor, working closely with employees, solving production issues, improving processes, and helping each department operate safely and efficiently.

The ideal candidate has experience managing approximately 15–25 employees in beverage, food, ice, distribution, or a similar manufacturing environment.

Experience with a larger beverage or consumer products organization such as Coca-Cola, Keurig Dr Pepper, PepsiCo, or a similar company is highly desirable.

About Shamrock Group

Shamrock Group has served the Minneapolis area for more than 80 years. Our operations include soda and juice production, packaged ice manufacturing, beverage distribution, refrigeration services, and related operations.

Under new ownership, Shamrock is entering a period of growth and modernization. We are looking for an Operations Manager who can bring strong operational practices while still being comfortable working in a smaller, hands-on environment where everyone contributes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations across the soda, juice, and ice departments.
  • Lead approximately 15–25 production and operations employees.
  • Work directly with employees on the production floor and remain actively involved in daily operations.
  • Set clear expectations and hold employees accountable for safety, quality, attendance, productivity, and performance.
  • Coordinate production schedules based on customer demand, staffing, inventory, and equipment availability.
  • Ensure production goals are achieved while maintaining product quality and food safety standards.
  • Monitor labor, overtime, production output, downtime, waste, and product loss.
  • Identify bottlenecks and make practical improvements to workflow and production processes.
  • Develop and maintain SOPs, work instructions, training materials, and production procedures.
  • Train and develop employees and department leads.
  • Work closely with maintenance to address equipment issues and preventative maintenance needs.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels for ingredients, packaging, supplies, and finished products.
  • Partner with warehouse, distribution, purchasing, sales, maintenance, and senior leadership.
  • Help introduce stronger processes, reporting, accountability, and operational controls as the company continues to grow.
  • Use production data and KPIs to identify opportunities for improved efficiency, quality, and cost control.

Food Safety & Sanitation

The Operations Manager will play an important role in maintaining Shamrock's food safety and sanitation programs.

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining and enforcing the company's HACCP plan.
  • Ensuring compliance with Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs).
  • Monitoring critical control points and required production records.
  • Ensuring sanitation schedules and documentation are completed accurately.
  • Addressing food safety or quality concerns and implementing corrective actions.
  • Preparing operations for internal, regulatory, customer, and third-party audits.
  • Ensuring employees follow GMPs, sanitation requirements, and food safety procedures.
  • Supporting compliance with applicable FDA, OSHA, EPA, state, and local requirements.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of operations, production, manufacturing, or distribution experience.
  • Previous experience supervising or managing approximately 15–25 employees.
  • Experience working in a hands-on manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong preference for experience in soda, juice, beverage, packaged ice, food, or other consumable product manufacturing.
  • Experience leading hourly production employees.
  • Working knowledge of HACCP, SSOPs, GMPs, sanitation, or food safety programs.
  • Experience with production scheduling, labor management, inventory, and operational planning.
  • Ability to troubleshoot production issues and make decisions quickly.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Experience developing employees and holding teams accountable.
  • Comfortable working in an environment where processes are evolving and improvements need to be built from the ground up.
  • Willingness to work alongside the team and become familiar with how each department operates.

Preferred Experience

  • Previous experience with a major beverage, food, or consumer products organization such as Coca-Cola, Keurig Dr Pepper, PepsiCo, or a similar operation.
  • Soda or non-alcoholic beverage manufacturing experience.
  • Juice manufacturing experience.
  • Packaged ice manufacturing experience.
  • HACCP certification or formal food safety training.
  • Experience with food safety or regulatory audits.
  • Experience implementing SOPs, KPIs, production tracking, or continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Experience in both manufacturing and distribution environments.

The Right Person for This Role

You may be a strong fit if you have worked for a larger beverage or manufacturing organization and are ready for an opportunity where you can have a much bigger impact.

At Shamrock, you will not be one manager among dozens. You will have the opportunity to work directly with ownership and leadership, build stronger processes, develop employees, and help shape how our operations grow.

We are looking for someone who can bring the structure and standards learned in a larger organization while still being willing to roll up their sleeves and work directly with the team.

Shamrock Group is an equal opportunity employer. Qualified applicants will be considered without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law.
