Operations Manager

About the role

Reporting to the Managing Director, you'll own and drive the operational function end-to-end — manufacturing, procurement, resourcing, national installation and subcontractor management. You'll directly lead the Production Manager and operational support team, and work alongside our Project Managers as the person who sets standards, removes roadblocks, and provides the suppliers, resources, manufacturing capability and installation partners they need to deliver. Your job is to make project delivery more efficient, drive down cost of goods, build the team and installation capability to support growth, and remove the roadblocks that stop revenue from being invoiced.

Key responsibilities

• Own and drive cost of goods — including inventory, fabrication costs and oversight of the delivery/installation costs managed by the Project Managers.
• Co-own revenue budget alongside Project Managers and remove operational roadblocks that stop revenue being delivered and invoiced
• Drive delivery efficiency end-to-end across procurement, manufacturing and national installation
• Lead operational team effectiveness — leading the Production Manager, operational support team, oversee the Drafting team and installation function
• Develop our national delivery capability — further developing the installation partner and subcontractor network to support expansion across Australia, alongside our Project Managers
• Lead team growth and training — setting up pathways, training programs and hiring plans to build skilled resource ahead of forecast demand
• Drive efficiencies across procurement, resourcing, manufacturing, outsourcing and installation

About you

• Experience in operations leadership in a project-based business combining manufacturing and installation (industrial, construction, engineered products or similar)
• Proven experience developing or managing national delivery capability across Australia — installation partners, subcontractor networks, geographic coverage
• Track record of driving down cost of goods through procurement, fabrication and delivery efficiencies
• Experience building training programs and capability pathways to fill forecast resource gaps
• Strong commercial acumen — fluent in cost management, project margin and forecast data
• Manufacturing exposure — lean principles, throughput, quality management
• Experience leading, coaching and when required - recruiting a winning, accountable team
• Systems thinking with a bias to action
• The ability to lead through influence and credibility
• Autonomy to make ROI based decisions to remove waste, and drive efficiencies and effectiveness across the operations team to deliver.
