Operations Manager

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily field operations of the paving and sealing company. This position ensures that crews, equipment, materials, and jobs are properly scheduled and that work is completed safely, efficiently, and according to company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily operations of paving, sealing, repair, and related projects.
• Schedule and coordinate crews, equipment, materials, and job locations.
• Communicate daily job assignments and expectations to crew members.
• Monitor crews throughout the day to ensure work is being completed properly and efficiently.
• Ensure jobs are completed according to company procedures and quality standards.
• Inspect completed work and address any issues before the crew leaves the job when possible.
• Coordinate equipment, trucks, trailers, and materials needed for each job.
• Monitor material usage and help prevent unnecessary waste.
• Communicate with customers regarding scheduling, job progress, and job-related questions or concerns.
• Respond to and help resolve customer complaints or callbacks.
• Coordinate with management regarding scheduling, staffing, job concerns, and production issues.
• Track job progress and communicate delays or changes to management and customers.
• Ensure employees follow company policies, safety procedures, and proper work practices.
• Assist with training and coaching employees on proper paving and sealing procedures.
• Address employee performance or conduct issues and report significant concerns to management.
• Help ensure company vehicles, equipment, and tools are properly maintained and cared for.
• Assist with planning for weather delays and adjusting schedules as needed.
• Help ensure crews remain productive and jobs are completed within the expected timeframe.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.
• Experience in paving, asphalt, sealcoating, construction, or a related field preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple crews and job sites.
• Ability to make decisions and solve problems quickly and professionally.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, seasonal environment.
• Ability to work flexible hours when necessary based on weather, scheduling, and job demands.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

The Operations Manager is expected to lead by example, maintain a professional attitude, hold employees accountable to company standards, and ensure that daily operations run smoothly and efficiently.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
