About the role

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to join our team at Limitless Electrical & Energy Solutions. This is a full-time position based in Dunedin, offering the opportunity to lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of our electrical services business. In this strategic role, you will be instrumental in ensuring efficient service delivery, maintaining safety standards, managing resources effectively and driving operational excellence across the organisation. Your leadership will directly impact our ability to serve customers reliably and grow our business sustainably.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate all field operations, including job scheduling, resource allocation and workforce management
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, electrical codes and industry standards across all operations
• Manage operational budgets, monitor expenses and identify opportunities for cost efficiency and profitability
• Recruit, train, supervise and develop the operational team, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement
• Liaise between field teams and management, ensuring clear communication of priorities, targets and performance metrics
• Monitor project timelines and quality standards, ensuring customer expectations are consistently met
• Maintain inventory management systems and ensure adequate supplies and equipment availability
• Respond to operational challenges and implement solutions to minimise disruptions and delays
• Prepare regular reports on operational performance, safety metrics and key performance indicators
• Collaborate with management on strategic planning and business development initiatives

What we're looking for

• Proven experience in operations management within the electrical services or trades sector, ideally within a similar-sized business
• Sound knowledge of electrical work, safety standards and relevant industry regulations including the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015
• Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff
• Excellent organisational and time management abilities with the capacity to manage multiple priorities
• Proficiency in scheduling software, budgeting tools and operational management systems
• Outstanding communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with teams, clients and stakeholders
• Problem-solving mindset with the capability to make sound decisions under pressure
• A commitment to health and safety practices and continuous operational improvement
• Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel across the Dunedin and Central Otago region
• Relevant qualifications in business management, operations or electrical trades would be advantageous
