Operations Manager

A well-established civil construction business is looking for an Operations Manager to join its Alexandra team. They’re busy, growing and adding more people to an already experienced operational crew.

You’ll lead a team of around nine across Foremen and Machine Operators. It’s a mix of office and field, leaning more towards the office, with your focus on making sure the right people, plant and resources are in the right place to keep projects moving.

There’s a strong leadership structure around you, so while you’ll have plenty of ownership, you won’t be left to figure everything out yourself.

What we’re looking for

• Strong civil construction experience
• Roading and infrastructure experience
• Previous operational leadership experience
• Confident leading Foremen and operational crews
• Good understanding of plant and resource planning
• Strong safety and quality focus
• Able to juggle changing priorities
• Practical, solutions-focused leadership style
• Ideally a few years' NZ construction experience
• Down-to-earth and able to fit into a close-knit team

You’ll work closely with your Foremen and wider construction team, coordinating crews, plant, subcontractors and upcoming workloads. You’ll be there to remove roadblocks, solve problems and make sure projects are delivered safely and efficiently.
