What they need
Operations Manager
Cristo Rey Miami High School is seeking an experienced, highly accountable Operations Manager to lead the systems, people, vendors, assets, and day-to-day infrastructure that keep our school safe, operational, prepared, and ready to serve students.
This is not simply a facilities position.
Reporting directly to the President, the Operations Manager will provide schoolwide leadership across facilities and maintenance, transportation, security, emergency preparedness, custodial operations, operational technology, food-service logistics, event operations, vendor management, purchasing, asset management, operational compliance, and capital projects.
The person stepping into this role must be comfortable moving between strategic planning and real-time execution—anticipating problems before they become emergencies, holding employees and vendors accountable, managing multiple priorities, and ensuring the campus is ready every day.
About Cristo Rey Miami High School
Cristo Rey Miami High School is a Catholic, college-preparatory school committed to educating young people of limited economic means to become men and women of faith, purpose, and service.
Through rigorous academics and our Corporate Work Study Program, students gain professional experience, skills, networks, confidence, and preparation for college and beyond.
The Operations Manager plays an essential role in creating the environment that allows that mission to happen safely and effectively every day.
What You’ll Own School Operations & Campus Readiness
- Lead and coordinate the School's day-to-day non-academic operations.
- Maintain a safe, clean, functional, professional, and student-ready campus.
- Conduct regular operational reviews and proactively identify risks, maintenance needs, service gaps, and improvement opportunities.
- Establish clear priorities, service standards, operating procedures, and accountability across assigned operational functions.
Facilities, Maintenance & Custodial Operations
- Oversee preventive maintenance, work orders, repairs, recurring inspections, custodial services, and general campus conditions.
- Coordinate HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, roofing, grounds, doors, locks, fire/life-safety equipment, and other building systems.
- Prioritize facility needs based on safety, urgency, operational impact, cost, and available resources.
- Coordinate qualified contractors when specialized or licensed work is required.
- Maintain high standards for campus cleanliness, presentation, and readiness.
Transportation & Fleet Operations
- Oversee School transportation operations, including vehicles, driver coverage and scheduling, routes, inspections, maintenance, and trip coordination.
- Coordinate transportation support for field trips, athletics, the Corporate Work Study Program, and other School activities.
- Maintain required driver and vehicle documentation and ensure applicable licensing, authorization, inspection, insurance, and other requirements remain current.
- Respond to transportation disruptions and ensure appropriate operational coverage.
Security & Campus Safety
- Coordinate security personnel and/or outside security providers.
- Monitor daily security coverage, access-control operations, surveillance systems, keys and credentials, and visitor-related operational procedures.
- Coordinate the operational response to security incidents and promptly escalate significant concerns to School leadership.
Emergency Preparedness
- Coordinate the operational components of emergency preparedness and continuity planning.
- Support drills, evacuation and lockdown procedures, severe-weather and hurricane readiness, emergency equipment and supplies, and campus recovery activities.
- Help ensure the School is operationally prepared to respond to unexpected events and disruptions.
Technology & Operational Infrastructure
- Coordinate with IT providers and technology vendors regarding network and infrastructure needs affecting School operations.
- Support printers/copiers, surveillance cameras, access-control systems, classroom and office technology, and other operational technology.
- Track technology assets and coordinate repairs, replacements, installations, and vendor support.
- Escalate cybersecurity, privacy, or specialized technical matters to the appropriate authorized resources.
Institutional Calendar & Event Operations
- Review upcoming School activities and institutional-calendar needs to ensure appropriate operational preparation.
- Coordinate facilities, transportation, security, IT, vendors, equipment, room setup, deliveries, access, and other logistics.
- Anticipate operational conflicts and resolve them before they affect School programming.
Food Service & School Nutrition Operations
- Coordinate the operational side of School food service.
- Manage vendor coordination, meal-service logistics, equipment and facilities readiness, sanitation-related operational needs, and service concerns.
- Partner with designated School personnel responsible for applicable programmatic, financial, and regulatory requirements.
Vendors & Operational Compliance
- Manage contractors, service providers, and operational vendors.
- Coordinate proposals, scopes of work, schedules, site access, service quality, corrective follow-up, and vendor performance.
- Maintain required operational documentation, including certificates of insurance, permits, licenses, inspections, service records, warranties, transportation records, and other applicable records.
- Ensure the School is not committed beyond established approval authority.
Asset Management
- Maintain appropriate oversight of School operational assets, including vehicles, furniture, equipment, technology assets, keys, access devices, and other operational inventory.
- Establish systems for inventory control, condition tracking, replacement planning, warranties, transfers, and appropriate disposal.
Capital Projects & Campus Improvements
- Coordinate approved campus improvements and capital projects from operational planning through completion.
- Manage contractor coordination, schedules, site access, inspections, progress follow-up, punch lists, warranties, and project closeout.

- Recommendations regarding staffing and corrective action through established Human Resources processes
We are looking for someone who does not simply identify problems—but owns the process of getting them resolved.
What Success Looks Like
A successful Operations Manager will create an environment where:
- Campus operations are proactive rather than reactive.
- Maintenance concerns are identified and addressed before they become major disruptions.
- Transportation is dependable and properly documented.
- Vendors are held accountable for quality, deadlines, and cost.
- Employees understand their responsibilities and expectations.

- Leadership receives timely visibility into significant risks, incidents, costs, projects, and operational needs.
- Students and employees enter a campus that is safe, functional, clean, and ready every day.

- Demonstrated experience supervising employees and managing contractors or service providers.
- Working knowledge of building systems and preventive maintenance, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life-safety systems, access control, general maintenance, and custodial operations.
