Working at the intersection of iwi, community, and the health system, the organisation advocates for solutions that uplift hauora and achieve equitable outcomes for whānau, hapū, and hapori Māori.

Acting as the organisation's central point of operational accountability, you will ensure programmes, contracts, and strategic priorities are delivered in a coordinated, compliant, and sustainable way, enabling the General Manager to focus on external leadership, relationships, and system influence.

  • Coordinate internal teams, contractors, and delivery partners to ensure aligned outcomes
  • Lead organisational planning, risk management, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Work alongside the General Manager to translate strategic priorities into executable delivery plans
  • Ensure operational practices align with kaupapa Māori values and organisational expectations

What can the successful candidate expect in return?

  • Significant autonomy, influence, and accountability
  • A collaborative and values-driven team environment
  • The chance to build lasting systems and processes that support better outcomes for whānau Māori

Tohu me te wheako | Qualifications & Experience
You are an experienced operational leader who thrives in complex environments and enjoys creating clarity, structure, and performance across multiple workstreams.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Extensive experience in senior operations, delivery, programme, or organisational leadership roles

  • Strong experience managing government contracts, funding agreements, and reporting requirements
  • Experience designing and implementing operational systems and business processes
  • Experience working across multiple stakeholders, providers, and delivery functions
  • Experience in Māori health, iwi, or kaupapa Māori environments will be highly regarded
  • Experience supporting Board governance and working within publicly funded environments will be an advantage
  • Some Te Reo Māori capability and confidence operating within a te ao Māori environment, alongside a commitment to te reo me ōna tikanga

You'll bring the following skills and attributes:

  • Strong analytical, reporting, and performance management capability
  • The ability to connect strategic intent with operational execution
  • A highly accountable, outcomes-focused approach
  • Confidence managing complexity, competing priorities, and organisational risk
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • A proactive and decisive style, with a focus on continuous improvement
  • The ability to influence, align, and guide others without relying on formal hierarchy

Kōrero mōu | About You
You bring a strong understanding of Te Ao Māori, tikanga, and Te Tiriti o Waitangi, along with a genuine commitment to improving outcomes for whānau Māori.

You are equally comfortable operating at a strategic and operational level, with the ability to build systems, drive performance, and ensure accountability across the organisation.
