Our patented pressurized Space Pens have been used on every crewed U.S. space flight since Apollo 7 and by modern space programs including SpaceX, Axiom Space, and Blue Origin. Our products are manufactured in Boulder City, Nevada, and sold worldwide.

The Role

We are looking for a hands-on Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day performance of our manufacturing operation. This person will be responsible for keeping production running efficiently, maintaining quality and on-time delivery, managing employees and resources, and continuously improving our operation.

This is not a desk-only management position. The Operations Manager will spend significant time on the production floor working directly with employees, identifying problems, and keeping operations moving.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily manufacturing, production scheduling, staffing, and workflow.
• Manage and develop production employees while maintaining clear expectations and accountability.
• Monitor production output, labor utilization, downtime, scrap/rework, quality, and on-time delivery.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement practical process improvements.
• Coordinate equipment maintenance and preventive maintenance to maximize uptime.
• Oversee inventory, purchasing, material flow, supply chain, and vendor relationships.
• Maintain high standards for product quality, workplace safety, and facility operations.
• Support budgeting, cost reduction, capacity planning, and operational improvements.
• Work closely with company leadership and other departments to support company goals.

Qualifications

• Proven manufacturing, production, or operations leadership experience.
• Strong understanding of production scheduling, inventory, quality, staffing, and manufacturing workflows.
• Hands-on problem solver who is comfortable working directly on the production floor.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and decision-making skills.
• Experience with ERP/production systems, spreadsheets, and performance metrics.
• Lean/Six Sigma or other continuous improvement experience is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree preferred, but equivalent manufacturing leadership experience is welcomed.
• Small to mid-sized or family-owned manufacturing experience is a plus.
