Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise retail staff, including hiring, training, employee orientation, and ongoing development to build a high-performing team.
• Oversee daily store operations such as inventory management, stock replenishment, merchandising, and inventory control to maximize sales opportunities.
• Manage sales activities by setting targets, monitoring performance, and implementing sales management strategies to meet or exceed goals.
• Ensure smooth cashiering and POS (Point of Sale) system operations while maintaining accurate cash handling and bookkeeping procedures.
• Conduct regular staff meetings to communicate expectations, provide coaching on managerial communication skills, and promote team cohesion.
• Coordinate purchasing decisions, pricing strategies, and promotional activities to enhance store profitability.
• Maintain compliance with safety standards, manage shift schedules, and oversee operational tasks like opening/closing procedures and store maintenance.

Qualifications

• Proven management experience in retail or a related industry with supervising responsibilities; previous assistant manager experience is highly valued.
• Strong knowledge of retail math, cash handling procedures, POS systems, inventory management software, and basic bookkeeping.
• Excellent communication skills in multiple languages or bilingual proficiency preferred; ability to effectively train and develop staff.
• Demonstrated leadership with the ability to motivate teams through managerial communication and team management techniques.
• Experience in retail sales environments such as grocery stores or wireless sales is advantageous; familiarity with retail industry sales team management is essential.
• Skills in negotiation, purchasing, pricing strategies, marketing initiatives, and operational management are critical for success.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently with strong organizational skills and time management capabilities.
