Operations Manager

About the role

Behn Meyer Agricare (M) Sdn Bhd is looking for a dynamic and experienced Operations Manager to join our team in Sandakan, Sabah. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Fertilizer Division, ensuring efficient production, inventory management, logistics coordination, quality standards, and overall operational performance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the overall operations of the Fertilizer Division at the Sandakan Branch
• Plan and coordinate fertilizer production, blending, packing, storage, and delivery activities
• Ensure operational processes are carried out efficiently, safely, and in accordance with company policies and procedures
• Monitor production schedules, manpower requirements, inventory levels, and resource utilization
• Coordinate with Sales, Procurement, Warehouse, Logistics, Finance, and other relevant departments to ensure smooth operations
• Monitor stock movement, raw materials, finished goods, and inventory accuracy
• Ensure proper maintenance and upkeep of machinery, equipment, facilities, and operational areas
• Monitor operational costs and identify opportunities to improve productivity and cost efficiency
• Ensure compliance with occupational safety, environmental, quality, and regulatory requirements
• Lead, coach, and develop the operations team to achieve business and operational objectives

About you

• Diploma or Degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
• Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience, preferably in fertilizer, agriculture, manufacturing, plantation, logistics, or a related industry
• Experience in managing production, warehouse, logistics, or plant operations will be an added advantage
• Strong leadership, people management, and problem-solving skills
• Good understanding of operational planning, inventory control, and cost management
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Able to work independently and make sound operational decisions
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with ERP or inventory management systems
• Willing to be based in Sandakan, Sabah
