Operations Manager – BGS Hydraulics

BGS Hydraulics is looking for an experienced Operations Manager to take ownership of our day-to-day operation and help drive the next stage of our growth.

We're particularly interested in speaking with experienced Hydraulic Service Managers, Branch Managers, Operations Managers and senior hydraulic industry professionals who know what it takes to run a successful service operation.

About the role

You'll take responsibility for the daily operation of BGS Hydraulics, including:

• Managing incoming customer calls and breakdown requests.
• Scheduling and allocating technicians.
• Maximising technician productivity and billable utilisation.
• Managing workshop and field-service workflow.
• Keeping customers informed.
• Preparing and following up quotations.
• Reviewing completed job cards.
• Ensuring labour, travel, parts and materials are captured.
• Getting completed jobs ready for invoicing quickly.
• Managing stock and purchasing.
• Managing supplier relationships.
• Monitoring open jobs and WIP.
• Developing existing customer accounts.
• Pursuing new customers and opportunities.
• Helping recruit and develop the BGS technical team.
• Working directly with management to grow the business.
