JAM Events is one of Scotland’s leading wedding and event décor companies, delivering hundreds of weddings and events every year across Scotland.

As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced, organised and genuinely hands-on Operations Manager to take ownership of the day-to-day running of our busy operation.

This is not a desk-only management position.

Our Operations Manager will be right at the heart of the business, managing the team, coordinating weddings, overseeing rotas and logistics, checking picking lists and preparation, and making sure our showroom, warehouse, vans and event setups operate smoothly.

On busy weeks, you’ll also be expected to roll your sleeves up and help the team wherever needed.

The role will include:

* Managing the day-to-day operations of JAM Events
* Leading and supporting our events, décor and floristry team
* Creating and managing staff rotas and ensuring appropriate staffing for weddings and events
* Overseeing weekly wedding schedules, deliveries, collections and setups
* Organising the team across weddings, deliveries, collections, preparation and appointments
* Making sure everyone knows where they need to be and what needs completed each day
* Ensuring picking lists are completed accurately and all décor, equipment and stock is prepared and checked before leaving our premises
* Overseeing the loading and unloading of vans
* Coordinating our fleet of vans and delivery schedules
* Monitoring stock, equipment and décor across our showroom and warehouse
* Maintaining high standards of organisation across all operational areas
* Supporting wedding installations and collections when required
* Stepping in practically with setups, packing, loading and problem-solving when needed
* Managing last-minute changes calmly and efficiently
* Ensuring health & safety procedures and company processes are followed
* Supporting staff training, performance and accountability
* Working closely with the owner and wider management/admin team
* Continuously looking for ways to improve systems, efficiency and the customer experience

About you

We’re looking for someone who is:

* An experienced people manager
* Highly organised and confident managing a busy workload
* Naturally proactive — you notice what needs done and get it done
* Comfortable managing multiple events, teams and deadlines at once
* Confident making decisions and taking responsibility
* A strong communicator who can lead a team while remaining approachable
* Calm under pressure and able to problem-solve quickly
* Happy working practically alongside the team
* Comfortable in a fast-paced environment where every week can look different
* Reliable, flexible and committed to maintaining extremely high standards

Experience within events, weddings, hospitality, logistics, operations, retail management or a similar fast-paced environment would be particularly suited to this role.

You do not need to come from the wedding industry, but you must understand how to manage people, logistics and deadlines and be willing to learn our industry quickly.

Essential

* Previous management or operational experience
* Full UK driving licence
* Confident driving company vehicles/vans
* Flexibility to work weekends and occasional early mornings/late finishes around events
* Strong organisational and communication skills
* Comfortable using digital systems for rotas, schedules and job management
* Able to work from our Cumnock base
