THE OPPORTUNITY

As our Operations Manager, you will be the operational backbone of Taurus Mortgage Capital. You will work directly with our President and senior brokers to streamline our processes, manage the mortgage file pipeline from application to funding, coordinate with lenders and referral partners, and ensure that every client interaction reflects the high standard Taurus is known for.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

• Manage the end-to-end mortgage file pipeline — from application receipt through to lender approval and funding — ensuring all files are complete, compliant, and moving on time
• Coordinate directly with lenders, insurers (CMHC, Sagen), lawyers, and appraisers on behalf of broker agents
• Maintain and improve internal CRM and document management systems to ensure data integrity and process efficiency
• Prepare and review mortgage application packages for completeness and compliance with lender requirements
• Support broker agents with administrative coordination, client follow-up, and file status communication
• Manage lender relationships and stay current on product guidelines, submission requirements, and underwriting preferences
• Coordinate client communications for document collection, status updates, and closing preparation
• Identify bottlenecks in the current process and implement improvements that save time and reduce errors
• Onboard and support new broker agents joining the Taurus team
• Manage office administration including scheduling, vendor relationships, and day-to-day operational needs

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Must Have:

• 3+ years of experience in mortgage operations, mortgage administration, or a closely related financial services operations role
• Strong working knowledge of the Canadian residential mortgage process — from application through to funding
• Familiarity with major Canadian lenders, insurer guidelines (CMHC / Sagen / Canada Guaranty), and stress test requirements
• Exceptional organizational skills — you manage multiple files and deadlines simultaneously without things falling through the cracks
• Professional written and verbal communication — you represent Taurus to lenders, lawyers, and clients
• Proficiency with mortgage CRM or document management platforms
• Legally authorized to work in Canada

Nice to Have:

• Experience in a mortgage brokerage environment specifically (vs. a bank or lender)
• Familiarity with Filogix, Velocity, or Newton Spark submission platforms
• FSRA mortgage agent or broker license (or willingness to obtain)
• Bilingual in English and French or a second language relevant to the GTA market
