What they need

National Window Film is a union window film contractor. Our installers are members of IUPAT District Council 21, and we work outside DC21 under the IUPAT National Specialty Agreement for Window Film. The Operations Manager runs NWF day to day. You'll lead union crews, schedule jobs, manage film, vehicles, and the warehouse, and serve as the company's contact with the unions.

Job Responsibilities

People Management

  • Hire installers directly or through DC21 referrals, manage the 60-day probation, and make sure new hires apply to the union within 30 days
  • Assign crews and appoint working foremen. Review performance and coach, discipline, or discharge for proper cause under our union agreements
  • Act as the company's labor relations representative on grievances, direct the job-site safety program, and sit on the joint safety and policy committees with DC21

Union and Labor Compliance

  • Serve as the company's contact with DC21 and other IUPAT district councils, and keep NWF in good standing with DC21 and its funds
  • Outside DC21, send IUPAT job notices, staff crews to national-agreement local-hire ratios, and file weekly employee lists
  • Classify each job as standard, prevailing wage or PLA before pricing, and confirm crews hold required certifications
  • Apply contract pay rules (shifts, height rate, driving time, per diem, show-up pay) and get accurate hours to payroll so monthly remittances and dues are filed by the 30th. This role does not perform bargaining-unit work.

Job Management

  • Schedule installations in SIPS, balancing customer dates, crew skills and availability, site access and materials
  • Manage film inventory at the Bound Brook warehouse, and order on time from suppliers
  • With the contracts and insurance team, prepare pre-job paperwork (safety plans, certificates of insurance, state and public works registrations), then close out jobs and warranty registrations

Customer Service

  • Build a culture of responsive, friendly service that makes NWF easy to work with
  • Answer customer calls and emails promptly and professionally
  • Keep job records current from lead through completion

Sales Support

  • Give NWF sales labor-hour estimates, wage classifications and scheduling input for bids
  • Price labor-only work for affiliated companies using the intercompany pricing policy
  • Coordinate with affiliated offices on shared labor and scheduling

Financial Management

  • Own NWF's operating results by managing job profitability and controllable costs
  • Give accounting timely job progress and completion data for billing, including progress billing
  • Manage company vehicles (maintenance, mileage, replacement planning) and keep monthly inventory counts accurate

Qualifications

  • 3+ years managing field crews for a construction trade contractor, with a record of hiring, leading and holding crews accountable. Union glazing, glass, window film or finishing trades experience is strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of collective bargaining agreements, union dispatch, fringe benefit reporting, and prevailing wage or PLA work
  • Organized, clear communicator, comfortable with Google Workspace, CRM and scheduling software. Window film knowledge is a plus, and we provide training.
  • OSHA 30 (or within 90 days) and a valid driver's license for travel in NJ, PA, DE and NYC
