What they need
The Operations Manager drives day-to-day tactical operations, efficiency, and quality control across all store locations and micro-kiosks, while actively supporting business expansion through site evaluation, new store launches, and local commercial partnerships. This role bridges hands-on store execution with growth support—ensuring smooth workflows, strict recipe adherence, accurate stock management, and high store profitability while helping scale the brand's physical footprint.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
1. Store Operations & Field Quality Control
- Perform regular store visits and field audits across all outlets to ensure clean, safe, and brand-compliant store environments.
- Monitor speed of service and queuing efficiency, especially during peak morning and student rush hours.
- Ensure 100% compliance with beverage/food recipes, portion sizes, presentation, and hygiene standards.
- Troubleshoot immediate store-level operational challenges (equipment maintenance, POS issues, stock shortages).
2. Growth, Expansion & Site Development (20%)
- Site Evaluation: Conduct foot-traffic studies, demographic assessments, and technical checks (water/electrical capacity) for prospective kiosk locations.
- New Store Openings (NSO): Lead operational readiness for new store setups—coordinating equipment installation, initial stock setup, and soft launches.
- Landlord & Leasing Liaison: Assist ownership in communicating with mall leasing managers, private property owners, and local authorities.
- Local Business Development: Identify and execute local marketing opportunities, student partnerships, school event sponsorships, and bulk/catering orders.
- Franchise Support: Assist with onboarding new franchise partners by delivering operational training and site launch guidance.
3. Inventory Control & Cost Management
- Monitor store-level stock levels to prevent stockouts and overstocking of dairy, syrups, coffee beans, cups, and packaging.
- Conduct weekly physical stock takes and reconcile inventory variance against Point-of-Sale (POS) system records.
- Enforce strict First-In, First-Out (FIFO) stock rotation to minimize waste, spoilage, and shrinkage.
- Liaise with central distribution and suppliers for timely ingredient replenishment.
4. Team Leadership & Workforce Management
- Supervise, coach, and mentor Branch Managers, Lead Baristas, and store staff across all locations.
- Manage weekly shift scheduling and labor hours to match foot-traffic trends while controlling labor costs.
- Onboard and train new staff on drink preparation, customer service standards, machine care, and POS handling.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and manage attendance and punctuality records.
5. Daily Cash & Compliance Management
- Enforce daily cash reconciliation and end-of-day (EOD) sales reporting protocols across stores.
- Conduct periodic cash drawer audits and review POS void/discount logs to maintain financial integrity.
- Ensure store permits, health cards, and local government (LGU) sanitary compliance are up-to-date across all locations.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Experience: 3–5 years of operational supervisory or managerial experience preferably in high-volume Quick-Service Restaurants (QSR), coffee chains, or milk tea micro-franchises.
- Growth/BizDev Exposure: Hands-on experience in assisting with new store launches (NSOs), site inspections, or local store marketing initiatives.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Hotel & Restaurant Management (HRM), or a related field.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in Point-of-Sale (POS) systems, MS Excel / Google Sheets for inventory tracking, and cash audit procedures.
- Mobility: Willingness to travel frequently across current and prospective store locations within Metro Manila.
Key Competencies & Core Skills
- Commercial & Growth Mindset: Keen eye for retail site feasibility, foot-traffic flow, and local revenue opportunities.
- Hands-on Leadership: Willingness to work on the store floor during rush hours and lead by example behind the counter when needed.
- Problem-Solving & Agility: Fast-acting under pressure to resolve supply issues, equipment repairs, or launch delays.
- Stakeholder Management: Confident communication skills in Tagalog and English to deal with store staff, landlords, suppliers, and franchisees.
