OPERATIONS MANAGER

Job Purpose / Summary:

We are seeking a hands-on and technically competent factory project & operations manager to oversee the setup and development of our new manufacturing facility in Penang. The role will be responsible for coordinating factory construction, equipment installation, commissioning, and production start-up activities. Upon completion of the plant setup phase, the candidate will transition into managing daily manufacturing operations, production performance, maintenance coordination, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Description:

Overall Purpose of the Role:

·    The role is responsible for overseeing the setup and operational readiness of the company’s physical recovery

and manufacturing facility, including factory construction coordination, industrial equipment installation,

commissioning, and production startup.

·    The position will also lead ongoing plant operations with a focus on safety, efficiency, equipment reliability, and

continuous process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

A.    Factory Construction & Project Coordination

·     Coordinate and supervise factory construction and renovation activities together with contractors,

consultants, and suppliers.

·     Monitor project timeline, quality, safety, and budget to ensure successful completion.

·     Act as the main internal coordinator between management, contractors, utility providers, and equipment

vendors.

·     Ensure compliance with local authority requirements, safety regulations, and industrial standards

B.    Equipment Installation & Commissioning

·      Oversee machinery delivery, installation, testing, and commissioning activities.

·      Coordinate mechanical, electrical, and automation integration for production systems.

·      Work closely with suppliers and technical teams during setup and troubleshooting.

·      Develop equipment start-up procedures, SOPs, and preventive maintenance plans.

·      Support process optimization during trial production and ramp-up stage.

·      Responsible for coordinating customer-related equipment installation, preparing the required

documentation, and handling communication and liaison activities.

C. Production Operations Management (After factory start-up)

·        Manage daily production operations to achieve output, quality, safety, and efficiency targets.

·        Plan manpower, workflow, and production scheduling.

·        Monitor machine performance, downtime, and operational KPIs.

·        Coordinate maintenance and continuous improvement activities.

·        Establish and enforce production SOPs, safety practices, and quality standards.

·        Lead and develop production and technical teams.

D. Continuous Improvement

·        Drive productivity improvement, waste reduction, and process optimization initiatives.

·       Support implementation of lean manufacturing and preventive maintenance practices.

·       Participate in future factory expansion and automation projects.

·       Undertake additional responsibilities and strategic projects as assigned by Management in support of the

company’s operational and business expansion objectives.
