Operations Manager

MATBOCK is a leader in providing lighter, faster and more innovative gear to the military sector and beyond. We are seeking an experienced, manufacturing-based, Operations Manager to join our team and take our growing operations to the peak of excellence. We specialize in the development, cutting and sewing of our proprietary soft goods. We have a growing manufacturing operation that needs to rapidly expand our operations due to our continued growth and expected needs from the defense industry.

As Operations Manager you have proven operational experience, are a strong communicator and you have the ability to collaborate within all areas of MATBOCK. Experience should include development within a quickly growing company and the ability to develop processes for a company who has outgrown its established processes. Directly responsible for the safety, quality, delivery, cost and people to produce our products, while developing and implementing the production systems and lean tools required to produce efficiently. Objectives:

• Continue execution and refine our overall operational strategy at MATBOCK
• Directly influence, transform and create plant related processes and improvements
• Uphold standards of excellence and quality
• Maintain and exceed production goals through innovation and employee development
• Achieve improvements with minimum cost expenditure by developing, maintaining and improving budgets, goals and targets
• Establish a highly motivated work environment through mentorship, employee development and guidance

Specific Duties:

• P&L responsibilities for MATBOCK operations
• Establishes goals, objectives and guidelines to maintain an efficient, functional and profitable plant
• Ensure targeted budgets and margins are met
• Oversees day to day operations, ensuring established goals and customer expectations are met
• Direct, guide and motivate team in attainment of individual and organizational goals and objectives
• Establishes procedures and controls within the plant to better meet production needs
• Makes all decisions and approvals, within established span of control (manufacturing, outsourcing, supply chain, quality), regarding vital elements of the plant organization and operation
• Drives continuous improvement at all levels
• Responsible for planning and forecasting plant requirements regarding equipment, manpower, materials and outsourcing as well as establishing budgets for labor, materials and improvements
• Initiates and implements new methods and procedures in manufacturing techniques/flow and work force utilization
• Recruit and train high performing employees to achieve needed production goals
• Review job performance of each report on a timely basis while being a model of expected behaviors
• Develop and implement a strategy for operational excellence
• Develop and implement a strategy to drive operational excellence using lean tools

Skills and Qualifications:

• Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing role, preferably in a lean manufacturing environment
• Strong decision-making abilities
• Strong people skills, with the ability to motivate and lead teams while also holding them accountable
• Experience in a growing company either implementing new structures and processes or restructuring a company with minimal structures and processes
• Military background/experience a plus

Education and/or Experience:

A college degree with five years of experience in leadership roles at progressively higher levels strongly preferred.

Other Skills and Abilities:

Must be highly computer literate and familiar with appropriate software programs.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
