OPERATIONS MANAGER

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of MERC BRAGA MEAT PRODUCTS TRADING, ensuring efficient handling, storage, and distribution of frozen meat products. The role focuses on operational excellence, inventory control, food safety compliance, cost management, and team supervision to maintain high standards of product quality and customer satisfaction.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

1. Operations Management

• Oversee daily warehouse and cold storage operations.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and dispatch of frozen meat products.
• Monitor workflow efficiency and implement process improvements.

2. Inventory Control

• Monitor stock levels and ensure accuracy of inventory records.
• Conduct regular physical inventory and reconciliation.
• Minimize spoilage, wastage, and product losses.
• Ensure proper FIFO (First In, First Out) implementation.

3. Quality & Food Safety Compliance

• Ensure compliance with food safety standards and sanitation procedures.
• Monitor temperature controls of cold storage facilities.
• Ensure adherence to local regulatory requirements (e.g., permits and safety standards).
• Handle product complaints and implement corrective actions.

4. Logistics & Distribution

• Supervise delivery schedules and route planning.
• Ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
• Coordinate vehicle maintenance and service schedules.

5. Financial & Cost Control

• Monitor operational expenses and recommend cost-saving measures.
• Prepare operational reports (daily, weekly, monthly).
• Assist management in budgeting and forecasting.

6. Team Leadership

• Supervise storage staffs, invoicing clerks, drivers, and logistics inventory staff.
• Implement performance standards and conduct evaluations.
• Provide training and enforce company policies and discipline.

7. Equipment & Facility Maintenance

• Ensure proper maintenance of cold storage units, freezers, and equipment.
• Coordinate repairs and preventive maintenance schedules.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Logistics, or related field.
• Minimum of 3–5 years experience in operations management, preferably in frozen food, meat trading, or warehouse operations.
• Strong knowledge of inventory management and cold storage operations.
• Familiarity with food safety standards and handling procedures.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Willing to work extended hours if needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in frozen meat trading or food distribution industry.
• Knowledge of supply chain management.
• Background in fleet supervision and logistics planning.
