About GTM Talent
GTM Talent helps VC-backed startups move away from founder-led sales. We’ve made 50+ go-to-market (GTM) placements, from a startup’s first non-founder sales hire up to its first sales leader.
We’re a lean team and we’d like to stay that way. To do that, we need someone to run the back office so the front office can focus on clients and candidates.
The role
You’ll own finance and operations. You’ll be the person who knows where the money is, what we’ve signed, which tools we pay for, and where everything lives.
You don’t need to be an expert in any of this on day one.
You do need to be organised, curious and comfortable picking things up quickly.
What you’ll do
- Contracts: Build and maintain our library of contract templates. Work with our legal advisor to tighten our client agreement so we’re protected when a project doesn’t go to plan.
- Cash flow and reporting: Build and run a live model of our revenue, expenses and cash flow, so we always know where we stand and what’s coming.
- Vendor management: Be the main contact for our SaaS tools. Raise bugs, chase support tickets, track renewal dates and flag contracts before they auto-renew.
- Hiring structure: Work with our accountant and payroll provider to find the most tax-efficient and compliant way to bring on freelancers and full-time staff.
- Systems and knowledge base: Keep our CRM clean and up to date, and organise our knowledge base across Google Drive and Claude so anyone can find what they need in seconds.
Who we’re looking for
There’s no checklist of qualifications. This role suits you if:
- You’re a recent graduate (business, finance, economics or anything else) who wants hands-on startup experience rather than a corporate machine, or
- You’re coming from hospitality and want to move into tech. If you’ve run a busy shift, reconciled a till, dealt with suppliers or kept a team organised under pressure, you already have most of the skills this job needs.
You’ll also be:
- Organised and reliable: loose ends bother you, and you close them.
- Comfortable with numbers: you can find your way around Google Sheets or Excel and you’re keen to get better.
- A clear communicator: you can chase a vendor, ask an accountant a sharp question or write a tidy summary.
- Self-directed: you’ll get context and support, but nobody will be checking your to-do list.
- Curious about AI tools: we use Claude every day, and you’ll help us get more out of it.
What you’ll get
- A real view of how a recruitment business and the startup ecosystem work, alongside Navin
- Ownership from day one; this isn’t a role where you make coffee and take notes
- Flexible, part-time hours that fit around study, other work or life
- A strong starting point for a career in startup ops, finance or RevOps
How to apply
- Apply via LinkedIn or message Navin Premkumar directly.
- In 3–4 sentences, tell us about a time you brought order to something chaotic. It can be from a job, a society, a side hustle or a Saturday night shift.
Other offers great for you!
