Operations Manager — Amigos Tutoring (Miami, FL)

About us: Amigos Tutoring is a family-run K–12 tutoring company with 5 locations across Miami-Dade. We help students in math, reading, homework support, and SAT/ACT prep — and we treat every family like they're our own.

The role: You run the day-to-day of the company. You report directly to the founder and own everything that happens inside the centers: the tutors, the schedules, the parents, and the numbers.

What you'll own

• Hire, onboard, and manage the tutor team across all locations — recruit strong people, train them right, and keep standards high.
• Daily reporting: one clean performance number to the founder every evening (show rate = students who showed ÷ appointments on the books).
• Parent communication: answer questions, resolve complaints fast, and keep families confident in us. Our families are bilingual — you'll need to handle both English and Spanish conversations with care.
• Quality control: enforce our tutoring standards (active instruction, not babysitting), run folder and progress reviews, and coach tutors who fall short.
• Scheduling and coverage: keep every center staffed every shift; no gaps, no surprises.
• Policies in practice: roll out company policies to tutors clearly and fairly, and make sure they're followed.

What we're looking for

• Proven track record managing people — you've run a team and can point to what improved under you.
• Bilingual English/Spanish (strongly preferred — most of our families are).
• Calm, direct communicator: clear in writing, steady on the phone, honest in person.
• Highly organized; comfortable juggling hiring, schedules, and parent issues in the same day.
• Available weekday afternoons and evenings (our centers run 3–9 PM); reliable transportation across Miami-Dade.
• Education, tutoring, or youth-services background is a plus — but great operators from retail, hospitality, or healthcare are welcome.

What success looks like in 90 days

• Every location fully staffed with tutors who show up and teach well.
• Turnover down, hiring mistakes caught in the interview — not after training.
• Clean daily reports, fast parent responses, and centers that run without the founder firefighting.

• Full-time, $25/hour plus performance-based commission (tied to enrollment growth and center performance).
