Operations Manager – Smash My Trash
Columbia, SC | Full-Time | Starting annual salary: $70,000, paid weekly

Keep the trucks rolling and the customers happy. Smash My Trash is looking for a hands-on Operations Manager to run our fleet, lead our truck operators, and help grow a business that’s literally crushing it. This role is responsible for supporting all company's Smash My Trash locations across the South Carolina region.

What You’ll Do

• Oversee our fleet of compactor trucks, including scheduling and tracking maintenance, annual DOT inspections, and weekly and monthly safety equipment checks.
• Be the go-to contact for our SMT Truck Operators.
• Manage driver compliance, including DOT medical card tracking and renewals.
• Coordinate equipment repairs (including smash arm repairs) with vendors.
• Lead product demos and support sales promotions with other departments.
• Hire, train, and evaluate team members.
• Partner with Accounting, Marketing, and HR at Gray Fox Strategic to keep things compliant and on target.
• Step in as backup driver in each city we operate in.
• Help plan and manage new product and R&D projects.

What You Bring

• Experience with fleet operations, boom trucks, or hydraulic equipment.
• Leadership and people-management experience.
• Strong customer service skills and comfort talking with customers and vendors.
• Working knowledge of DOT/FMCSA and OSHA requirements.
• Basic budgeting and math skills, plus comfort reading reports.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Requirements

• Valid driver’s license and a current DOT medical card.
• Must pass a background check and DOT drug/alcohol testing, including a Clearinghouse query.
• Able to work outdoors in all weather and to climb in and out of truck cabs.
• Able to lift up to 100 lbs.
• Available for some Saturdays and evenings as needed.
• Willing to travel to SMT service cities, about 50% of the time.
