As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced and hands-on Operations & Warehouse Manager to take ownership of our day-to-day production, warehouse, stock and purchasing operations.
The Opportunity
This is a varied, hands-on management role for someone who enjoys taking responsibility, leading a team and improving the way things work.
You will oversee the smooth running of our production and warehouse operations, ensuring orders move efficiently from stock receipt through production and ultimately to dispatch.
You'll be responsible for managing the production team, machinery, purchasing, suppliers, warehouse organisation, stock control and quality standards.
We're looking for someone who is equally comfortable managing people and processes as they are getting involved operationally when required.
What You'll Be Responsible For
Production & Operations

This will include:
- Planning and managing daily production schedules

- Ensuring stock is stored and identified correctly
- Managing stock levels to balance availability with cost
- Carrying out regular stock checks and stocktakes
- Investigating and resolving stock discrepancies
- Improving stock accuracy and warehouse processes
- Ensuring production has the garments and materials required to meet customer deadlines
Purchasing & Supplier Management
You'll manage the purchasing of garments, materials and production supplies, ensuring the business has what it needs while maintaining effective cost control.
You'll be responsible for:
- Managing purchasing requirements across operations
- Negotiating with suppliers to achieve the best combination of price, quality and service
- Developing strong supplier relationships
- Monitoring supplier performance
- Identifying opportunities for cost savings and improved purchasing processes
- Ensuring materials and stock arrive when required
Team Leadership & Development
You'll lead the production and warehouse team, creating a positive, productive and accountable working environment.
You'll:
- Manage and support team members on a day-to-day basis
- Set clear expectations and priorities
- Train and onboard new employees
- Develop skills and knowledge within the team
- Monitor productivity and performance
- Ensure processes, procedures and health & safety requirements are followed
- Lead by example and create a culture of continuous improvement

You'll ensure:
- Products meet Black Mountain Clothing's quality standards
- Quality issues are identified and resolved quickly
- Recurring problems are investigated and prevented
- Employees understand and follow the correct quality procedures
- Opportunities to improve quality and reduce errors are continually identified
Systems & Continuous Improvement
We're looking for someone who doesn't simply maintain existing processes but actively looks for ways to make them better.
You'll help us:
- Introduce and improve digital systems across production, warehouse and stock management
- Reduce unnecessary manual processes
- Improve operational data and reporting
- Identify opportunities for automation
- Improve productivity and workflow
- Train the team on new systems and ways of working
About You
We're looking for an experienced operations professional who is organised, practical and comfortable taking ownership.
You'll ideally have:
- 3–5+ years' experience within operations, production, manufacturing, warehousing or a similar environment
- Confidence using digital systems and technology**,** confidence using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook, as well as other relevant digital systems. The successful candidate should be comfortable learning new software and using IT effectively to support day-to-day operations. - Previous experience managing or supervising a team
- Strong production and operational planning experience

- An understanding of machinery and production workflows
- Experience implementing or maintaining stock control systems
- A strong understanding of quality control
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Strong communication and people-management skills
