Operations Manager

Osborne Bearing Technologies LLC is looking for an experienced Operations & Commercial Manager to take day-to-day leadership responsibility for our Houston operation.

This is not a traditional workshop management role.

We are looking for someone who can combine operational leadership with commercial development, financial accountability and business growth.

OBT is part of the Osborne Engineering Group, an international engineering business with operations across the USA, UK, UAE, Poland and Malaysia. Our Houston facility specializes in Babbitt bearing repair, machining, inspection and related rotating-equipment services supporting customers across power generation, oil & gas and wider industrial markets.

The Houston business is established and growing, with further investment planned as we expand our workforce, workshop capability and customer base.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for the day-to-day performance of the Houston operation, working closely with the General Manager and Group Director.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the day-to-day performance of the Houston business
• Manage financial performance, including revenue, costs, margin and profitability
• Support delivery of agreed monthly and quarterly business targets
• Lead and develop the local commercial team, with a strong focus on customer activity, pipeline development and conversion
• Grow existing customer accounts and identify new business opportunities
• Reactivate dormant and lost customers
• Support pricing strategy, quotations and key commercial negotiations
• Work closely with the Workshop Supervisor to maintain strong operational performance
• Improve workshop productivity, capacity and utilization as the business grows
• Recruit and develop additional machinists and technical personnel
• Support succession planning and knowledge transfer within the workshop
• Maintain clear operational controls, KPIs and performance management systems
• Drive improvements in on-time delivery, lead times, quality and workflow
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers
• Support compliance with company quality systems and group standards
• Evaluate future investment in people, machinery and capacity
• Develop and execute a clear growth plan for the Houston operation
• Align local processes with best practices across the wider Osborne Engineering Group

What We Are Looking For

We are particularly interested in candidates with:

• 10+ years of experience within manufacturing, industrial services, rotating equipment, machining or a related engineering environment
• Proven experience managing a business, site or operational unit with commercial and financial responsibility
• Strong commercial awareness and experience driving both revenue and profitability
• Experience leading operational and commercial teams
• Strong exposure to oil & gas, power generation or wider industrial customers
• Experience in workshop, repair or manufacturing environments
• Strong understanding of pricing, margins, negotiation and commercial decision-making
• A track record of developing teams and improving operational performance
• Strong leadership, decision-making and accountability
• Experience within the Texas industrial market

Experience within bearings, rotating equipment, turbomachinery, repair or precision machining would be highly advantageous.

More importantly, we are looking for someone with an entrepreneurial mindset who enjoys building businesses, developing people, improving performance and taking ownership.

Pay: $110,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
