Operations Manager

About the Role

As Operations Manager, you will be responsible for leading the Palmerston North operation, ensuring safe, efficient, and profitable service delivery while developing a high-performing team culture.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and managing all transport, depot, and operational activities within the Palmerston North region.
• Championing health, safety, and wellbeing, ensuring compliance and promoting a strong safety culture.
• Delivering operational performance in line with company objectives, budgets, and customer expectations.
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives and operational best practice.
• Managing fleet, facilities, and other business assets to maximise efficiency and profitability.
• Leading, coaching, and developing team members to achieve high performance and engagement.
• Building strong relationships with customers, employees, and key stakeholders.

About you

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

• Proven experience in an Operations Manager or similar leadership role.
• Strong people leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop diverse teams.
• Experience within transport, logistics, freight, or a related operational environment.
• A strong commercial mindset with the ability to drive operational and financial performance.
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
• A hands-on leadership style and willingness to lead from the front.
• Relevant management, logistics, or transportation qualifications (preferred).
