Operations Manager

National Steel is an established and growing National Metal recycler , seeking an experienced Operations Manager to provide senior leadership across its Auckland operation.

This is a newly established opportunity for an experienced leader who can learn the operation, build strong relationships and progressively take greater ownership across our operation..

About the Role

You will:

·         Provide leadership accross all operational areas

·         Initially work closely with the existing staff to understand the operation, systems, people and processes

·         Drive productivity, efficiency and continuous improvement

·         Strengthen manufacturing systems, processes and performance

·         Develop and coach Team Leaders and staff

·         Work closely with Engineering, Quality and H&S

·         Identify opportunities to improve cost, quality, output and reliability

·         Have a strong desire to develop Health and safety in a practical sense.

About You

We are looking for an leader with:

·         Prefered experience in the recycling industry

·         Good understanding of production planning .

·         Experience driving productivity and continuous improvement

·         Strong problem-solving and decision-making capability

·         A practical, hands-on leadership style

·         The ability to build trust, influence people and drive accountability

·         The ambition to take on broader factory responsibility over time
