What they need

About Garage Living Cincinnati

Garage Living Cincinnati specializes in transforming residential garages into beautiful, organized, and functional spaces. We provide premium garage floor coatings, custom cabinetry, wall storage systems, and other garage organization solutions.

We're looking for an experienced, hands-on Operations Manager to lead our installation operations, support our field teams, and ensure every project is completed efficiently and to a high standard of quality.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys leading people, solving problems, improving processes, and taking ownership of day-to-day operations in a growing business.

Position Overview

The Operations Manager is responsible for the daily execution of our installation operations, from scheduling and crew coordination to materials management, quality control, and customer satisfaction.

You'll lead a team of installation professionals, coordinate closely with our sales and design teams, and ensure jobs are completed safely, on schedule, and to Garage Living's quality standards.

We're looking for a leader who is comfortable managing people and processes while also being willing to roll up their sleeves when needed. This is primarily a management position, not a full-time installation role.

Key Responsibilities

Installation Operations & Scheduling

  • Manage daily installation operations across multiple residential job sites.
  • Develop and maintain installation schedules based on crew availability, project requirements, and material readiness.
  • Assign installation crews based on skills, experience, and project complexity.
  • Ensure jobs are properly prepared before installation, including materials, equipment, drawings, and customer expectations.
  • Monitor job progress and proactively resolve scheduling conflicts, delays, and operational challenges.
  • Coordinate with sales and design teams to ensure a smooth transition from approved projects to installation.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop installation team members.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and hold team members accountable for quality, productivity, safety, and professionalism.
  • Conduct regular check-ins, provide constructive feedback, and address performance issues.
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training installation employees.
  • Promote a positive, team-oriented culture built on accountability, respect, and continuous improvement.

Quality Control & Customer Experience

  • Ensure installations consistently meet Garage Living's workmanship and quality standards.
  • Conduct job-site inspections and follow up on completed projects.
  • Resolve installation-related customer concerns professionally and promptly.
  • Coordinate warranty work, service calls, and corrective actions when necessary.
  • Identify recurring quality issues and implement improvements to prevent them.

Inventory, Materials & Equipment

  • Coordinate material requirements and availability for upcoming installations.
  • Oversee inventory organization, accuracy, and replenishment.
  • Ensure installation vehicles, tools, and equipment are maintained and ready for use.
  • Help reduce material waste, unnecessary trips, and avoidable operational costs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and facility.

Operational Performance & Process Improvement

  • Monitor installation productivity, labor utilization, job completion timelines, and rework.
  • Identify opportunities to improve scheduling efficiency, installation processes, and team performance.
  • Maintain accurate job information, schedules, and updates in company systems.
  • Use operational data to identify problems and recommend practical solutions.
  • Partner with ownership to implement improvements that support growth and profitability.

Safety & Accountability

  • Reinforce safe work practices in the warehouse, company vehicles, and customer job sites.
  • Ensure team members follow company safety procedures and equipment requirements.
  • Address unsafe conditions and incidents promptly.
  • Maintain professional standards for customer property protection, cleanliness, and job-site conduct.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 3+ years of experience managing field operations, installation crews, construction teams, or a similar service-based operation.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and hold teams accountable.
  • Strong organizational, scheduling, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience coordinating multiple jobs, crews, and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Comfortable using scheduling software, mobile applications, and basic business technology.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to local job sites.
  • Ability to work on-site in the Cincinnati area.

Preferred:

  • Experience in residential remodeling, home improvement, flooring, cabinetry, garage organization, or specialty installation.
  • Experience managing teams of 10 or more field employees.
  • Familiarity with inventory management and warehouse operations.
  • Experience with field service management software such as Zuper.
  • Background in process improvement, operational reporting, or productivity management.

What Success Looks Like

The successful Operations Manager will:

  • Keep installation crews productive and projects running on schedule.
  • Ensure materials, equipment, and job details are ready before crews arrive.
  • Maintain consistently high installation quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Reduce callbacks, rework, scheduling disruptions, and wasted labor.
  • Develop a reliable, accountable, and well-trained installation team.
  • Build repeatable processes that allow the business to grow without sacrificing quality.

What We Offer

  • Competitive compensation based on experience.
  • A leadership role with meaningful responsibility and autonomy.
  • The opportunity to help shape and improve operations in a growing business.
  • A supportive, team-oriented work environment.
  • The satisfaction of delivering high-quality transformations for homeowners throughout Greater Cincinnati.
