Operations Manager

About the role

This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a strong background in painting and decorating who can price work accurately, manage trades and crews, supervise projects from start to finish and consistently deliver jobs on time and on budget. You will be responsible for overseeing painting and decorating projects from Launceston to Wynyard ensuring high quality workmanship, efficient labour management and strong financial outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Pricing and estimating painting and decorating works
• Preparing accurate quotes and project budgets
• Planning and scheduling jobs and labour
• Managing projects from commencement through to completion
• Monitoring labour, materials and project costs
• Ensuring projects are delivered on time and on budget
• Maintaining high standards of quality and workmanship
• Liaising with clients, builders and other contractors
• Ordering and managing materials
• Completing site inspections and reporting on projects progress

About you

• Proven experience in painting and decorating
• Previous experience in a supervisory or foreman role
• Strong experience in pricing and estimating painting work
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects and crew
• A strong understanding of labour and material costs
• Proven ability to deliver projects within budget and maximise profitability
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• The ability to work independently and make decisions on site
• A professional approach when dealing with clients and builders
