Operations Manager

A growing national B2B service organization is seeking a hands-on Operations Manager to lead its technician operations in Columbia, SC. This is a leadership position designed for an operator who can take ownership of a team and help drive its next stage of growth.

This role combines operations, sales, customer relationships, team leadership, and field execution . The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys being close to the business — leading employees, working with customers, improving service delivery, identifying growth opportunities, and stepping into the field when needed.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Branch Manager, Service Manager, District Manager, Operations Manager, or General Manager who has successfully led teams in a recurring B2B service environment and is ready for broader ownership.

What You'll Do

• Take ownership of the overall performance and growth of the Columbia operation
• Lead day-to-day technician operations while developing a strong, accountable team
• Partner closely with the Branch Manager overseeing field technicians and daily service delivery
• Drive organic growth through customer retention, upselling, new business development, and expansion of existing accounts
• Build relationships with key customers and conduct regular quality and service reviews
• Participate in customer visits, ride-alongs, quality checks, and field operations
• Support larger or more complex customer projects when additional leadership is needed
• Coach and develop field employees
• Ensure inventory, equipment, scheduling, and branch resources are effectively managed
• Work closely with senior leadership on growth initiatives and continued investment in the market
• Help support future expansion and potential integration of additional operations as the Columbia market grows

What We're Looking For

• 4+ years of leadership experience in operations, service management, branch management, or a similar role
• Experience managing teams in a B2B field-service or route-based business
• Strong operational instincts with the ability to understand and influence sales
• Proven ability to coach employees and hold teams accountable for performance
• Comfortable developing relationships with customers and identifying additional revenue opportunities
• Financial and business acumen with an understanding of branch KPIs and performance metrics
• Comfortable working in the field alongside employees when the business requires it
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel locally throughout the Columbia market

Experience in industries such as uniform and facility services, pest control, commercial cleaning, waste services, restoration, landscaping, HVAC/plumbing, route services, or other recurring B2B service businesses is especially relevant.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary: $60,000–$65,000 , depending on experience
• Performance-based bonus opportunity
• Monday–Friday schedule
• Local position with no regular overnight travel
