About the Role

We are a growing truck and spare parts business seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee our day-to-day operations, from importation and warehousing to sales fulfilment, after-sales support and logistics. You will drive efficiency, control costs and make sure customers get the right trucks and parts on time. The role is hybrid, with office days at our Igbo Efon base and remote work on others.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily operations across sales, stores, logistics, workshop/after-sales and administration

Set operational targets, SOPs and KPIs, and monitor performance weekly and monthly

Identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements to reduce delays and costs

Prepare operations reports and present insights to the Managing Director

Manage sourcing and ordering of trucks and spare parts from local and overseas suppliers

Negotiate pricing, lead times and payment terms with suppliers

Coordinate shipping, port clearance and customs with freight forwarders and clearing agents

Maintain supplier relationships and evaluate supplier performance

Ensure accurate stock records and set reorder levels for fast-moving parts

Supervise stock counts, receiving, storage, picking and dispatch

Reduce slow-moving, obsolete and damaged stock

Work with Accounting to reconcile inventory records and import costing

Coordinate order processing, delivery scheduling and vehicle handover

Work with the sales team to ensure stock availability and timely quotations

Resolve customer complaints, returns and warranty claims promptly

Support after-sales service and parts availability for the workshop

Manage delivery operations, drivers and transport partners

Plan routes and schedules to keep delivery costs low and timelines reliable

Oversee vehicle maintenance, documentation and compliance

Lead, coach and evaluate operations staff (storekeepers, drivers, logistics and admin team)

Enforce health, safety and security standards across the premises

Ensure compliance with regulatory, customs, licensing and insurance requirements

Control departmental budgets and operating expenses

Requirements

Qualifications

B.Sc./HND in Business Administration

Minimum of 8 years' experience in operations, supply chain or logistics, with at least 3 years in a management role

Prior experience in the automotive, trucks, spare parts, heavy equipment or distribution sector is strongly preferred

Proven experience managing imports, inventory and teams

Working knowledge of Nigerian customs and clearing processes
