Embrace Associates is working with a well-established, highly regarded construction and roofing contractor that is appointing an experienced Operations Manager to join its senior team. The business is known for quality and client care, and this is an opportunity for a driven leader to take ownership of project delivery.

You’ll have genuine influence over how projects are planned, resourced and delivered. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders to drive continued growth and operational excellence across both pitched and flat roofing.

The role

You’ll be responsible for planning, coordinating and delivering construction roofing projects, working with the pre-construction and project teams, subcontractors and clients to make sure every scheme is completed safely, on time, within budget and to the highest standard.

Key responsibilities

• Working with the pre-construction team to create project plans, programmes and budgets aligned with client requirements and company goals
• Collaborating with colleagues across the business, including QS, Estimating, Finance, HR and Contracts Managers, to keep projects on time and on budget
• Allocating labour, plant and materials across sites to make the best use of resources
• Setting and maintaining quality control processes so all projects meet or exceed industry standards and client expectations
• Leading a strong safety culture and making sure regulations and best practice are followed
• Overseeing subcontractor selection, negotiation and performance
• Acting as a key point of contact for clients during delivery, including queries, concerns and variations
• Monitoring budgets, tracking costs and finding savings that protect margin
• Leading, mentoring and developing project teams in a collaborative, efficient environment
• Keeping accurate project records and providing regular progress reports to senior management

About you

• A natural leader with proven experience in an operations-focused role within the roofing industry
• Hands-on knowledge of both pitched and flat roofing systems and materials
• A track record of delivering schemes safely, on time and within budget
• In-depth knowledge of project management, quality control and health & safety
• Excellent leadership, team-building, communication and negotiation skills
• The ability to manage multiple projects at once
• Confidence with project management software and Microsoft Office
