The Role:

The Operations Manager – Distribution will lead daily distribution operations, build accountable teams and drive measurable improvements in safety, quality, service, productivity and performance. The role requires disciplined execution, effective cross-functional leadership and a strong focus on consistently meeting customer commitments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage day-to-day operations to ensure efficiency and productivity.
• Develop and implement operational strategies, resources and processes.
• Monitor KPIs and implement performance improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with department heads to align operations with overall business objectives.
• Manage operating budgets, inventory and resource planning to balance service reliability, working capital and cost performance.
• Oversee quality control and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Identify areas for process optimization and lead change management initiatives.
• Recruit, train, and mentor operational staff.
• Prepare and present reports to senior management.

• Proven experience as an Operations Manager or similar role.
• Practical mindset and good problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organisational and leadership abilities, a solutions-focused mindset and a clear, collaborative communication style.
• Demonstrated ability to take responsibility for quality control across a department, establish clear standards and sustain high performance.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities and accountabilities.
• Strong understanding of risk and compliance obligations, implement required controls and lead teams positively through change.
